The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. The federal approval recently granted the Lagos State Government to embark on the development of a passenger and cargo airport on the Lekki-Epe axis of the State has been officially presented. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, received the Federal Government’s instrument authorising the State to commence the airport project. Minister for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, presented the document to the Governor on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari at the ongoing Lagos Economic Summit (Ehingbeti) 2022 taking place at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island. Lagos Government initiated the aviation project, through a Public Private Partnership (PPP), in response to the pace of development on Lekki-Epe axis, which is now a fast-growing hub of commerce and industrial activities. The entire airport infrastructure will be sited on 3,500 hectares, with the first phase of the project estimated to cost $900 million. Anambra State Government Conducts Open Bidding For IGR Concessions.  Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reiterated his commitment to follow due process in all government engagements for the ultimate benefit of Ndi Anambra. Governor Soludo stated this at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka during the open bidding for all government internally generated revenue (IGR) concessions.  The process was conducted to sufficiently achieve the goal of keeping tab on government revenue sources.  The award of the concessions will follow after the successful bidding process.  The bid process follows the announcement by the Governor on immediate cancellation of all internally generated revenue (IGR) concessions in the state. Nigerian Soldier Arrested For Stealing, Selling Ammunition To Terrorists ANigerian soldier, Iorliam Emmanuel has been arrested for stealing and selling ammunition to Boko Haram terrorists. In a viral video, Emmanuel, said to have been attached to the 156 Task Force Battalion, codenamed "Operation Hadin Kai", in Mainok, Borno state was disarmed, searched and found to be carrying ammunition. The video shows as the ammunition was removed from a piece of clothing strapped around his waist. His colleagues could be heard saying, "God pass you, 99 days for the thief; so you'll go and give Boko Haram to come and attack us (sic)?"

Herdsmen Murder: Police Warn Kaduna Residents Against Extrajudicial Killing Yekini Ayoku, the police commissioner in Kaduna, has warned residents against extrajudicial killings. Mr Ayoku gave the warning in a statement issued on Wednesday by the command’s spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige. He said the command would not condone “the unacceptable and patently illegal resort to mob action, lynching and extra judicial killings by individuals in any part of the state.” The police chief was reacting to the lynching of two herdsmen in the Birnin Gwari local government area of the state. “This barbaric act cannot find justification under our laws. The responsibility of everyone under the law is not to pass judgment but to hand over anyone suspected of any infraction or offence, no matter the degree of suspicion, to the police or other appropriate security and law enforcement agencies,” said Mr Ayoku. Police Dispers Protesting Kaduna Traders Traders at the Kasuwan Barci market in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna metropolis have clashed with the police when they staged a protest asking Governor, Nasir El-Rufai to obey court order by paying them compensation over their demolished shops in the market. A Kaduna State High Court has ordered the state government that each of the shop owners in Kasuwan Barci be reinstated back to the market and the shop owners called on the government to respect the constituted authority and obey the court order. 96 SUSPECTED CULTISTS ARRESTED IN BENUE Chairman Gboko local government area of Benue State Isaac Mtom has disclosed that 96 suspected cultists have been arrested through the efforts of his taskforce team and handed over to the Benue Police Command for onward investigation. Mtom who disclosed this in an interview with LEADERSHIP lamented that on assumption of office, he discovered that the people of Gboko, the headquarters of the Tiv nation, housing the paramount ruler of the Tiv people, were not sleeping with their eyes closed. AZ:5310/OGS/PRO/VOL.7/159. 11/10/2022 OGUN POLICE ARRESTS THREE MEN FOR ATTEMPTING TO KIDNAP THEIR FORMER EMPLOYER.  Men of Ogun state Police Command have arrested three men for attempting to kidnap their former employer in Ijebu ode area of Ogun state.  The three suspects, Peter Nse 24 years, Chuckwuma Nwobodo 48 years and Michael Umanah 30 years  were arrested following a complain lodged at Igbeba divisional headquarters by one Ifenuga Olayinka, who reported that he received a text message his phone from someone who described himself as a "' Killer Vagabond of Africa "". In the said message, the author directed the complainant to pay the sum of #5 million into a bank account he sent to him or risk been kidnapped within the shortest possible time.  Upon the report, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga detailed his detectives to unravel those behind the devilish message.  The detectives there and then embarked on technical and intelligence based investigation wh
