The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Nigerian Man Takes $500,000 Cash To Deposit In A Bank A Nigerian man caused a stir in one of the new-generation banks when he went to deposit $500,000, approximately N200 million. The picture of the unidentified man circulated on social media has left many asking 'God when.' The picture was taken in an unknown bank in Nigeria and has left many bewildered about why such an amount of dollars would be hoarded or kept by an individual. is not clear if the person had violated the money laundering act as Nigeria grapples with dollar scarcity which previously led to the crash of the naira. A currency trader in Lagos, Ishaya Abdul, said that currently, there are so many dollars in the market. He said many forex traders are disposing of the dollars as the purported threats by the US swirl around. He said: "What is happening now is that most FX traders are releasing the dollars they have hoarded in the past. Right now, the dollar is crashing very fast."

Car Theft: Man Bags Nine Years Jail Term  in Ibadan The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, November 14, 2022 secured the conviction and sentencing of one Oni Daniel Temitope to nine years imprisonment before Justice Mohammed Owolabi of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan on an amended two count charge which bordered on stealing and obtaining property by false pretence. Oni’s journey to prison began when he approached his victim, Kamoru Wole Yekini, a car dealer in Iwo, Osun State, that he wanted to purchase a Toyota Matrix Salon car with a price tag of N1.8million but both parties  settled for N1, 580, 000.00 (One Million, Five Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira).

Money Laundering: Court Adjourns Mompha’s Trial Till Dec. 16  Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, adjourned  till December 16, 2022 the trial of one Ismaila Mustapha, also known as Mompha, over an alleged N6 billion fraud. The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is prosecuting Mompha alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on an eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy to launder funds obtained through unlawful activity, retention of proceeds of criminal conduct, laundering of funds obtained through unlawful activity, failure to disclose assets and property, possession of documents containing false pretence and use of property derived from unlawful act. Mompha alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, was first arraigned by the EFCC on January 12, 2022.

PRESIDENT BUHARI APPROVES N134 BILLION FOR MILITARY VETERANS; DONATES N 10 MILLION AT LAUNCH OF EMBLEM APPEAL FOR 2023 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY     President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja said N134.7 billion has been approved for the payment of Security Debarment Allowance (SDA) to all veterans.   The President also announced the donation of N10 million to the Nigerian Legion,  on behalf of the Federal Government, at the launch of the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal fund.   Speaking at the occasion, which preceded the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the President pledged the Federal Government's commitment to the welfare of veterans by ensuring prompt payment of their pension and other entitlements, which had been demonstrated by his approval of the payment of SDA to veterans with effect from 2017.   ‘‘However, in order to capture all veterans hitherto excluded from the payment of the SDA, I have approved a review of the effective da

A family of six is set to be buried on the 29th of November 2022. They are identified as the Nwokedi family from Ozubulu Ekusigo Local Government Area of Anambra  state. According to the poster,they all died on the 8th of October 2022 after taking their dinner. The husband is identified as Late  Augustine  Tochukwu Nwokedi 41 years,the wife identified as as late Josephine Nkeiru Nwokedi 39 years, their first son Late master Emmanuel Chinawmelem Nwokedi  12 years,Late Masters Godwin Chigozie Nwokedi 9years,Late Miss Chinazaekpere Blessing  6 years and their last baby Late Late Master  Joseph  Chinedum Nwokedi  3 years. From all indication because I am ruling out suicide is either someone poisoned them or generator fume killed them. Please people travelling this December should be very careful.

A combined team of Police operatives and local vigilante group in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State on Tuesday raided a criminal hideout in the area, shooting one while his accomplice escaped. The suspects were said to be sharing their loot after robbery operation at Atta road, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state when they were rounded up. A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity said, “Immediately they saw the security operatives, they started shooting at them which led to severe exchange of fire between the duo. “One of the robbers was arrested after being shot on the leg, while the other escaped with bullet wound.” Confirming the incident, Ogidi Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr. Ahmed Sani, said two guns, a barretta pistol and one cut to size local gun were recovered
