 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

TONI BRAXTON IS GETTING BETTER & BACK HOME AFTER SHE WAS RECENTLY HOSPITALIZED

                   A suspected kidnapper,Izuchukwu Amalunwoke,of Umuchem Village,Ojoto,in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State,has sued the police for N210m for allegedly demolishing his family house.He dragged officers and men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Anambra to a Federal High Court,sitting in Awka,for ''maliciously destroying a four-bedroom house of the Amalunwoke family.Joined in the suit were the Nigerian Police Force,the Inspector General of Police,the Anambra State Commissioner of Police,and the officer in charge of SARS,Ichi Station,among others.In the suit dated September 28,2016,the plaintiff sought,among other reliefs,a declaration that the damage and collapse of his building by SARS was unlawful,illegal and unconstitutional.He sought ''an order mandating the defendants to reconstruct the building of the plaintiff collapsed,or,in the alternative,an order for the defendants to pay him N60 million for the reconstruction of the said bu

FATHER OF 2 ARRESTED BY THE NDLEA FOR TRYING TO EXPORT 270 GRAMS OF COCAINE FROM LAGOS TO MADAGASCAR.{PHOTO}.

                    Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA,have arrested a 47-year old man,who attempted to export 270 grams of cocaine to Madagascar.The suspect,Odili Onyekwere,was nabbed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport,Lagos,during the outward screening of passengers on a Kenyan Airways flight to Ivato International Airport,Antananarivo,Madagascar.The NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport,Ahmadu Garba,said ''This is the first arrest and seizure in the year of a passenger heading to Madagascar from this airport.The suspect,Odili Onyekwere,successfully excreted 25 wraps of cocaine,which he ingested,while under close observation.He is cooperating with our team of investigators and the case will soon be charged to court''.During interrogation,the River State born suspect said he went into drug trafficking out of frustration.The father of two,who trade in footwear in Lome,Togo, said ''I am married with two children and I sell shoe

                   The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,,EFCC has been drawn to a report entitled , 'N3b Found in FAAN MD's Bank Accounts Sparks Discontent Over His Clearance By EFCC and Shabby Running Of The Agency',W=which appeared in the online news portal,Saharareporters,on Monday October 3,2016 with claims that the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria {FAAN},Mr Saleh Dunoma was cleared of corruption allegations by the Commission after paying bribe to unnamed officials of the EFCC and the Ministry of Transport.The EFCC is scandalized by this report which is capable of raising doubts in the mind of the public regarding the integrity of the agency.As an agency that has zero tolerance for corruption,the Commission views with seriousness issues of integrity and has repeatedly asked those with evidence of corruption among the ranks of its officers to come forward,which in this case should have included the names of the offic
