  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. 16 BRIGADE DONATES ITEMS, RENOVATES SCHOOL IN ELEBELE COMMUNITY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      In demonstration of its community relations activities, 16 Brigade Nigerian Army has donated various items to Comprehensive Community Secondary School, Elebele in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The donation was made by the Commander 16 Brigade Brigadier General Kevin Aligbe in Elebele Community. Items donated included 100 school desks for students, 20 tables and chairs for staff and sports items for the school. Additionally, the Brigade undertook a complete renovation of Community Priimary School 2 Elebele. This was preceded a free medical outreach conducted on 14 February 19 where over 1300 people benefitted. The event attracted Royal Fathers which included His Royal Majesty, King George Lawson, the Obanobhan 1 of Emeyal Clan and the Paramount Ruler of Elebele Community Community, His Royal Highness, King Osene David Osene.       An Osun State High Court, sitting in Osogbo has sentenced one Adeniyi Ebenezzar (aka Mary Oliver) to four months in prison in a fraud charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office. Justice W. O. Akanbi of the State High Court 3 gave the verdict in Osogbo on Wednesday after Adeniyi settled for plea bargain and his hitherto three-count charge was replaced with a lone-count charge of obtaining  money under false pretense, contrary to section 1(3) of Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006. Operatives of the Commission had arrested him on December 5, 2018 after defrauding an American citizen, Anthony, of one hundred United States Dollars. He had posed to his victim to be a white woman with the name Mary Oliver, using same to extort his victim. The amended charge reads: “That you Adeniyi Ebenezzar (A.K.A.       Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday visited the scene of a three-storey building which collapsed in Ita Faaji area of Lagos Island, where he commiserated with families of victims who lost their lives, most of whom are children. The three-storey residential building, located at No 14, Massey Street, Opposite Oja, Ita-Faaji, housing a primary school on its pent house, caved in at about 10am on Wednesday morning trapping scores of pupils of the school in the process. Governor Ambode, who got to the scene of the incident at about 2:42pm, described the incident as unfortunate, however, appealing to residents to allow rescue operators the space to carry out their operations without any hinderance, so as to rescue more children still trapped under the rubbles. “I want to commiserate with the families of those that lost their lives in this collapsed building.        Mother of new born baby realised she left her baby at the departure waiting hall after aircraft had taken off at the Saudi Arabia International Airport. In rare cases, mostly a major emergency, flights are generally cleared to return to airports to collect a forgotten item. A strange emergency case ensued at Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz International Airport after a woman forgot her new born baby at the airport. According to Gulf News, despite being naturally connected to a baby as a mother, the unidentified woman boarded the Saudi Arabian Airlines flight without a worry in the world. She only realised she had left her baby at the departure waiting hall after the aircraft had taken off from the airport. On suddenly realising her blunder, she informed the cabin crew she had forgotten her baby at the terminal forcing the pilot to turn Flight SV832 from Saudi Arabia’s capital city, Jeddah, to Kuala Lumpur back. 85 KILLED IN SOUTHERN KADUNA,BY SUSPECTED HERDSMEN YESTERDAY.

       At least 85 people have been killed in attacks on three communities in Kaduna State by suspected Fulani herdsmen in attacks on Sunday and Monday. The affected communities are Anguwan Barde and Gamu villages in Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) and Gerti, Kaninkon Chiefdom in Jama’a LGA. It was gathered that the attacks in Anguwan Barde took place on Sunday morning when suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded the community and killed 35 people. However, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Yakubu Sabo, who confirmed the attack on Anguwan Barde in a statement on Monday said 16 people were killed. Nonetheless, his account was disputed by Danladi Yarima, a lawyer and former President of the Adara Development Association (ADA), who maintained that 35 people were killed in the Sunday’s attack on Anguwan Barde.         The dogged troops of 152 Battalion successfully crushed some members of the Boko Haram Terrorists ( BHTs) when they attempted to infiltrate their location yesterday, 11 March 2019 at about 1900hrs around Bula - Yobe, Banki axis in Borno State. The Terrorists in their futile attempt came in with several Gun Trucks mounted with Anti Aircraft Guns and Motorcycles. The troops engaged the terrorists with superior fire power and inflicted heavy casualty on the BHTs and their equipment. The fierce gun battle set confusion and disorganisation in the terrorists camp, withdrawing in disarray while the troops gave them a hot pursuit.
