EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ISSUED AN APOLOGY TO NIGERIANS TODAY,OVER THE POWER FAILURE IN THE COUNTRY.

          Today friday the Federal Government issued an apology to Nigerians on the the prevailing power situation in the country which it attributed to gas failure,sabotage and vandalization of power infrastructure.Information and Culture Minister Lai Mohammed in a statement in Abuja said all efforts were being made to rectify the situation and ensure a gradual improvement in the power situation.He said ''There will be a decent improvement in the power situation from this weekend,thanks to ongoing remedial efforts that will double the current power supply to 4,000WM.Getting back to the 5,074MW all time high that was reached earlier will take a few more weeks.The vandalization of the Forcados export pipelines forced oil companies to shut down,making it iimpossible for them to produce gas.Then,workers at the ikeja Discos,who were protesting the disengagement of some of their colleagues after they failed the company's competency test,apparently colluded with the National Tran

SUPER EAGLES COACH ''SIASIA'',DROPS 5 PLAYERS FROM EAGLES CAMP.

                    Five players have been released from camp by Super Eagles head coach Samson Siasia.while another one has been transferred to the ?U-23 team also currently in camp in preparation for an international friendly against Brazil.Defenders Christopher Madaki and Oke Ogagatewho,midfielder Hassan Yau,attackers Prince Aggreh and Ezekiel Bassey have been told to return and stay with their clubs while petit winger Bright Onyedikachi has been transferred to the Olympic Team.Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye disclosed that only  1 3 players are now expected in camp next week as the coaches strive to raise the stakes ahead of the crucial games against Egypt.''The coaches are gradually cutting down the numbers.Next week,more players will be released to their clubs and some others will be transferred to the Olympic team also curently in camp ahead of the International friendly against Brazil.I am sure the coaches already have an idea of those home stars that will join

                    73 year old Angola President Jose Eduardo dos Santos,Africa's second longest serving leader after 36 years said today friday that he would leave politics in 20 1 8,after his current mandate ends.He said to the ruling Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola {MPLA}  party politburo in the capital Luanda said ''I have taken the decision to quit political life in 20 1 8 ''.Dos Santos came to power  1 979,following the unexpected death from cancer of Angola's liberation president Agostinho Neto.More photos below.                                                                                                                                           

THE NIGERIAN ARMY,ARRESTED 1 OUT OF THE 100 MOST WANTED BOKO HARAM MEMBERS YESTERDAY IN BAGA.

                 Yesterday thursday,Troops of 7 Multinational Joint Task Force Brigade Quick Response Group {QRG} stationed in Baga and  1 1 8 Task Force Battalion,sprang an ambush along Daban Masara axis used by Boko Haram terrorists elements to convey logistics.At the encounter,one of the suspected wanted Boko Haram terrorists leaders who is serial number 95 on the first Nigerian Army wanted list of  1 00 Boko Haram terrorists leaders,was fatally wounded in the exchange of fire.He later gave up while receiving medical attention at the base,while other members of his team escaped with gun shot wounds.The troops recovered 7 Jerri cans of 30 litres containing 2 1 0 litres of Premium Motor Spirit {PMS},motorcycles and food stuff in addition to arms and ammunitions.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.                                         

18 PEOPLE WERE ROASTED TODAY IN A FIRE OUTBREAK ,IN CBN CALABAR.

                    I just received an information from sources,that today friday an explosion thought to have been caused by a gas cylinder has rocked a Central Bank of Nigeria building in Calabar.Another source said eighteen people were roasted today friday while others sustained third degree burns at the CBN premises located at Calabar Road by the Millennium Park.The explosion which took place at about  1 1 .45 am set the main edifice of the bank on fire effectively trapping many staff and visitors which occasioned for the high casualty fire.The Acting Inspector General of Police in charge of zone six,Calabar,Mr Baba-Adisa Bolanta,who also inspected the scene,said the explosion was suspected to be from the gas in the central air-conditioning unit.''This is just an initial assessment,and it is not confirmed yet.it is when a final result has been given that we will confirm what really happened''.More photos below.
