 Obosi Development Union Backs Dialect Quiz to Preserve Local Language ‎ ‎  ‎By Chiedu Uche Okoye ‎ ‎The President General of the Obosi Development Union (ODU), Barrister  Chimezie Obi, has expressed his support for the upcoming Obosi dialect quiz competition, aimed at preserving the Obosi dialect of the Igbo language from extinction.  ‎ ‎The event, initiated by Pharm. Obi Egbuonye's "Revive Obosi Dialect Project", is scheduled to take place at the Obosi town hall on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. ‎ ‎According to Barr. Obi, the competition will promote the Obosi dialect and contribute to the preservation of the Igbo language. "It will bring together Obosi people who are proficient in the Obosi dialect, enabling younger generations to learn and appreciate their local language," he stated. ‎ ‎Nze Isaac Ejindu, leader of the Uruowulu village team, praised the organizers, including Pharm. TODAY FRIDAY,T.B JOSHUA'S APPLICATION TO STOP THE INQUEST OF HIS COLLAPSED BUILDING,WAS THROWN OUT OF COURT.

                                      The inquest T.B Joshua was trying to challenge was set up by the Lagos state Government to unravel the cause of the September 12,2014 building collapse which killed 116 people most of South African nationality.T.B Joshua had dragged the coroner court and the coroner,Mr Oyetade Komolafe,before Justice Okunnu of the Lagos High Court Ikeja,asking for a judicial review of the proceedings.In delivering her ruling,Justice Okunnu held that ''Although the coroner's court cannot be sued,Mr Oyetade Komolafe himself can be sued in his own capacity as a coroner.The court needed to resolve the issue whether the coroner has acted contrary to the rules of natural justice by not granting the applicants a fair hearing and whether he has exceeded the scope of a coroner's court.Sections 26 and 27 of the Coroners System Law of Lagos state 2007,empowered the coroner to summon ...
