 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. FG POSTPONES FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL TILL FURTHER NOTICE. (PHOTO).

The Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hajia Zainab Ahmed, said in Abuja on Monday that the Federal Government had postponed the planned removal of subsidy on petroleum products till further notice. Ahmed stated this at a meeting held at the National Assembly.

OGUN CANVASSES REVIEW OF COUNTERPART FUNDING FOR PROJECTS The Ogun State Government has called for the review of terms and conditions for accessing counterpart funding for projects by international donor agencies, which will reflect the economic reality of the country. Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, made the call in Abeokuta, during a meeting with a team from the International Economic Relations Department (IERD), Federal Ministry of Finance, led by its Director, Hajia Aisha Omar. The Lagos State Government has initiated steps to collaborate with the Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG) for the prevention of building collapse in the State. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, disclosed this during the visit of a delegation from BCPG to his office in Alausa recently, noting that the State Government is collaborating with professional bodies, especially the BCPG, to stem the tide of building collapse. He said it is high time narratives of the State exclude incidents of building collapse and urged the Guild to be more forthcoming in its relationship with the Ministry for adequate monitoring of the physical environment and eradication of all forms of illegality in building construction in Lagos State. BUSH FIRE CONSUMES 400 CORPSES IN ANAMBRA MORTUARY.(PHOTO).

Bush fire consumes 400 corpses in Anambra Mortuary Over 400 corpses have been burnt in a fire incident at the mortuary section of the General Hospital, Onitsha, Anambra State. The fire, which lasted about three hours on Saturday, razed the mortuary building located behind the hospital facility. The fire was said to have emanated from a burning bush behind the morgue. PUNCH Metro gathered that when the fire started, mortuary attendants poured water mixed with detergent to douse the flame. However, when the fire escalated, they called the state fire service. When our correspondent visited the scene on Sunday, it was a gory sight, as families who deposited corpses in the mortuary lamented the situation. Some, who had come to carry their corpses for burial, burst into tears when they saw that the mortuary was in ruins. Source: Punch

The clergyman urged these members aspiring for political positions to always seek counsel. According to Oyedepo: “And it is important for me to mention to members of the church because another time is here now. Employment Scammer Bags 3 Years Over Fake TETFund Job A Bauchi State High Court presided over by Justice M.M. Abubarkar has convicted and sentenced one Ibrahim Abubakar (aka Alhaji Sadiq Babati) to three years imprisonment on a two - count charge of criminal conspiracy and cheating to the tune of N2, 250,000 (Two Million Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) brought against him by the Gombe Zonal Command of the EFCC. The offences, according to the charge, were punishable under Section 97 and 322 of the Penal Code Law. The defendant who was arraigned on September 27, 2021 alongside one Hassan Lemaji (now a convict) had pleaded not guilty to the charge. In the course of trial, he changed his plea to ‘guilty’, on which basis the trial judge, after the review of facts of the case, found him guilty and sentenced him accordingly.

The defendants, executive members of Edo State Welders Association, ESWA, were said to have converted the sum of N15 million disbursed by the Edo State Government to the Edo State Welders Association for the empowerment of welders in the state to their personal use.

Serial Fraudster Bags 28 Years Jail Term The Kano Zonal Command of the EFCC, today January 24, 2022 secured the conviction of a serial fraudster, Gabriel Chimezie before Justice M.T.M Aliyu of the Kaduna State High Court on a four count charge of obtaining by false pretense. Chimezie had twice been convicted by the Kaduna State High Court on similar charges and is currently serving a term at the Correctional Centre. Chimezie alongside two others, Stephen Olaika and Francis Chukwu (deceased), defrauded the complainant to the tune of N1, 475,000 on the pretext that they would award him contract to supply Solar Halogen Indicator. The convict and his accomplices were able to convince their victim with the false claim that they knew him from his time at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Gunmen behead Ebube Agu personnel in Ebonyi State  Sunday Nwafor, a member of the Ebube Agu security outfit in Ebonyi state, has been killed by gunmen. The incident was said to have happened on Saturday in Ekpelu, Ikwo LGA of the state. Confirming the incident to TheCable, Loveth Odah, spokesperson of the state police command, said the 30-year-old man was shot in his house before he was dragged out and beheaded. Odeh said: “According to the wife, some people came to their house in the village and broke into the room. “She overheard them telling the guy the ‘you left us in the bush to work with Ebube Agu where you are collecting N30,000′. “She said she heard a gunshot. He was killed, dragged outside and beheaded. “The commissioner of police condemned the inhumane act. “He has vowed to do everything within the ambit of the law to ensure everyone directly or indirectly involved, are punished according to law.” Odah added that two persons have been arrested in connection to the crime. ...
