 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Sean “Diddy” Combs has been hit with a third s3xual assault lawsuit.  The lawsuit was filed under the New York state’s Adult Survivors Act, ahead of the expiry of a special one-year window for such complaints.  The new complaint from an anonymous accuser alleges Diddy and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping the accuser and her friend in 1990 or 1991 – and that Diddy turned violent during a rage days later.  In the filing, the accused identified as Jane Doe alleges she and her friend met Diddy and Hall at an event hosted by MCA Records, the distributor of Uptown Records, at the company’s offices in New York.  “Combs and Hall were very flirtatious and handsy with Jane Doe and her friend, offering them drinks throughout the night,” the filing reads.  As the event was winding down, Combs and Hall allegedly invited the women back to Hall’s apartment for an afterparty.  “While at Hall’s apartment, Jane Doe was offered more drinks and was coerced into having sex with Combs,” the fi

New mystery virus leaves hospitals in China overwhelmed as experts panic Hospitals in China are overwhelmed by an unidentified respiratory. The disease has taken hold so fast that it has already been declared an epidemic by ProMED, the International Society for Infectious Diseases. The undiagnosed form of pneumonia has taken hold in Beijing and Liaoning, causing experts to panic.  A source told ProMED: “Many, many are hospitalized. They don't cough and have no symptoms. Tiffany Haddish has reportedly been arrested for a DUI in Beverly Hills. The actress was placed in handcuffs on Friday morning, Nov. 24, according to TMZ. Police found the Hollywood comedienne asleep behind the wheel of her car when it was still running. The vehicle was located in the middle of a busy street on Beverly Drive. The call came from a concerned citizen at about 5:45am who was worried about the actress sleeping in her car. Haddish was reportedly “slumped over the wheel while the car was running,” the site claimed. She was cited for a DUI and is expected to be released from custody later today. In a video obtained by TMZ, the actress could be with her hands behind her back and cuffed as she is escorted to a patrol car. Imo PDP chairman murdered The Imo state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ward chairman for Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze Ward, Ezinihitte Mbaise council area, Smith Chiedoziem Anyanwu, has been murdered. Four people have been killed and nine others injured in a clash between Fulani's and Gbagi's at Beji in Bosso local government area of Niger state. Wike orders Abuja land owners with C of O to pay recertification fee Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, directed existing landowners with Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to pay for re-certification.   Wike, who spoke on a live television programme in Abuja, said the new C of O would require a National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN). He said since assumption of office, he decided not to sign any C-of-O because of the need to introduce enhanced security measures. The Minister said an individual would pay N50,000 while a corporate body would pay N100,000 for the new C of O. She noted that the initiative was a health insurance scheme of the state targeted at vulnerable indigent pregnant women across the 20 local government areas of the state. Coker noted that through the programme, the enrolled pregnant women would have access to free maternal health services at their assigned health centers, which will reduce the risk of complications during or after pregnancy. Oyedele: Tax waivers have not been transparent | We’ve created economic distortion Taiwo Oyedele, chairman of the presidential committee on tax reforms and fiscal policy, says Nigeria has not been very “prudent and transparent” in granting tax waivers. Oyedele spoke on Friday in an interview on Channels Television.  On Wednesday, the house of representatives directed that all tax waivers from 2015 to date should be investigated by the relevant committee. Commenting on the development, the tax expert said the waivers have not been equitably executed. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Dumle Maol. It was issued in pursuant to an application made by the Rt. Hon. Ehie Ogerenye Edison and the Rivers State House of Assembly over disobedience of the order of the Court made on the 7th day of November 2023. In the suit number FHC/PH/CS/240/2023, filed by the Rivers State House of Assembly as the first plaintiff and Rt. Hon. (Barr) Ehie Ogerenye Edison as the second plaintiff, the court had ordered the parties to stop taking any further steps concerning the subject matter of the suit before the court. PORT HARCOURT REFINERY TO START OPERATION THIS DECEMBER Amidst news that Saudi Arabia Kingdom government is in talks with the Federal Government of Nigeria to maintain four of Nigerian's refinery, Mele Kyari says full operations will resume at the Port Harcourt refinery in December 2023. Kyari is the Group Chief Executive Officer and managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited Speaking at a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Kyari said the rehabilitation of the state-run refineries is ongoing and that by December 2024 Nigeria would stop petrol imports.

Jigawa State Remits N100m To NAHCON, Refunds N2m To 2022/2023 Pilgrims Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has remitted over 100 million naira in hajj fares for some 2024 prospective pilgrims to the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON). The Executive Secretary of the board Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo revealed this information to reporters in Dutse.  He clarified that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria had allocated 1,518 hajj seats to the state.  Portable cries out as Embassy denies his wife of visa to UK Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as portable has expressed his anger as he accused a foreign embassy of refusing to grant his wife a visa to accompany him to the UK for a performance. The singer was hoping to spend time with his wife before the show, but the embassy’s decision has upset him. According to portable, they are treating his wife unfairly because of issues they have with him. He also accused the embassy of trying to rip him off. This has caused frustration for the singer, who is set to perform in London on November 26th. He lamented, asking why they would treat his wife that way because he is the one who is a gangster, and they shouldn’t be taking out their fight with him on his wife.  Sanwo-Olu Sacks LASTMA Boss Oreagba The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has sacked the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Bolaji Oreagba. In his place, the governor has appointed Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the acting general manager of LASTMA. Bakare-Oki’s appointment is with immediate effect. Giving reasons for the dismissal of Oreagba, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation, Olawale Musa, noted that the appointment of Bakare-Oki “is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanours among staffs and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads.”

 Truck, Car Collide On Lagos-Ibadan Highway     A crash involving a car and a truck occurred in the early hours of Friday at the Magboro end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.  Our correspondent, who was at the scene of the accident, reported that no life was lost.   The accident involved a Toyota Camry  with number plate SMK 436 GB and a Mercedes-Benz truck with number plate AKD G43 XM.   The crash happened around 8.10am just before the Magboro bus stop side of the road.     The car was heading towards Ibadan and the truck was about to get on the road before the collision happened.     The accident has caused  gridlock  on the inward Ibadan lane of the expressway.
