 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

NO ATTACK ON IKORODU POLICE STATION, LAGOS COMMAND.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Lagos State Police Command wishes to clear the air that there was no attack on Ikorodu Police Station, Igbogbo, Lagos State or any of its police formations in the State. There is no Ogijo Police Station in the Lagos State Police Command but in Ogun State, and the same station, Ogijo, was never attacked as being speculated in the news. The video in circulation was a portion of the scene of the recent Bank Robbery Attack in Ikire Osun State. The Lagos State Police Command therefore urges the general public to disregard the viral video as it's fake, mischievous and mere social media projection The Command remains resolute in providing adequate security for all and sundry in Lagos State. NIGERIAN NAVY LAUNCHES NEW WARSHIP.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

  The Nigerian Navy (NN) has today launched a new Landing Ship Tank (LST) at Damen Shipyard, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The construction of the ship began about 2 years ago and when commissioned, will replace the first set of LSTs of the NN, NNS AMBE and NNS OFIOM which have been decommissioned. The introduction of the LST to the NN inventory will bolster NN sealift capability. Specifically, it would enhance the transportation of troops, military hardware, vehicles in the conduct of maritime security operations launched from sea as well as supply of relief material during period of national emergency. Furthermore, the vessel will serve as a critical component of naval power projection for enhanced maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and beyond. In its secondary role, the LST will play a critical role in the protection of maritime assets and preservation of law and order at sea, thus contributing significantly to promotion of global maritime commerce, peace and safety.   The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Friday, June 4, 2021, arrested 50 suspected internet fraudsters. The suspects were arrested at Alaro Sango, Agbaje Ijokoro, and Apete Aladura areas of Ibadan, Oyo State following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud. Thirty four of the suspects already indicted by the investigation are: Badmus Abeeb, Ibrahim Ahmed, Adeyemo Babatunde, Abdulrashid Ajagbe, Olajide Okiki Peter, Hassan Yusuf Atanda, Yusuf Olasupo Salaudeen, Bello Ahmed Bamidele, Adewale Damilola Tosin, Kolawole Yusuf Olawale, Nicholas Ferdinand, Keshiro Olanrewaju, Falana Victor Dapo, Abogunrin Emmanuel, Bosun Tomiwa Tunde, Shelter Chibundo, Banjoko Idris, and Adebayo Akorede.    No fewer than 30 winners have emerged in the fifth edition of Unity Bank Plc’s flagship business plan competition, Corpreneurship Challenge, which held across ten states last week.     The 30 winners who won cash prizes totalling N10 million emerged during the final business pitch in the fifth edition of the contest for NYSC 2021 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course, which took place simultaneously across ten NYSC camps in Lagos, Ogun, Benin, Abuja and Akwa Ibom.       Other NYSC camps where winners emerged also included Ogun, Kano, Sokoto, Enugu and Osun.    As in the previous editions, the cash prizes included a N200,000 business grant for each of the second runner ups; N300,000 business grant for the first runner ups and a star prize of N500,000 for each of the ten winners.      Some of the winners included Monday Love Sheba, Adeoye Janet and Essien Nsikak in Bayelsa camp, while Agu Ogechukwu Lilian, Obichukwu Victor and Abiona Elizabeth emerged as the winners in the Akwa Ibom St

SULTAN OF SOKOTO COMMISSIONS BAUCHI HAJJ CAMP NAMED AFTER HIM.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar today commissioned the Bauchi Hajj Camp constructed and named after him by the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed. Speaking during the ceremony, the Sultan of Sokoto appreciated Governor Bala for the construction of the facility in accordance to international standard. Sultan Abubakar said naming the facility after him is a challenge to him and therefore will do everything possible to the best of his ability to ensure its proper utilization. He appealed to Governor Bala not to relent in working for the welfare of his people saying that that will contribute to the success of his administration.
