  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. There is no Ogijo Police Station in the Lagos State Police Command but in Ogun State, and the same station, Ogijo, was never attacked as being speculated in the news. NIGERIAN NAVY LAUNCHES NEW WARSHIP.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

  The Nigerian Navy (NN) has today launched a new Landing Ship Tank (LST) at Damen Shipyard, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The construction of the ship began about 2 years ago and when commissioned, will replace the first set of LSTs of the NN, NNS AMBE and NNS OFIOM which have been decommissioned. The introduction of the LST to the NN inventory will bolster NN sealift capability. Specifically, it would enhance the transportation of troops, military hardware, vehicles in the conduct of maritime security operations launched from sea as well as supply of relief material during period of national emergency. Furthermore, the vessel will serve as a critical component of naval power projection for enhanced maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and beyond. In its secondary role, the LST will play a critical role in the protection of maritime assets and preservation of law and order at sea, thus contributing significantly to promotion of global maritime commerce, peace and safety.   The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Friday, June 4, 2021, arrested 50 suspected internet fraudsters. The suspects were arrested at Alaro Sango, Agbaje Ijokoro, and Apete Aladura areas of Ibadan, Oyo State following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud. SULTAN OF SOKOTO COMMISSIONS BAUCHI HAJJ CAMP NAMED AFTER HIM.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar today commissioned the Bauchi Hajj Camp constructed and named after him by the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed. Speaking during the ceremony, the Sultan of Sokoto appreciated Governor Bala for the construction of the facility in accordance to international standard. Sultan Abubakar said naming the facility after him is a challenge to him and therefore will do everything possible to the best of his ability to ensure its proper utilization. He appealed to Governor Bala not to relent in working for the welfare of his people saying that that will contribute to the success of his administration. In his speech, Governor Bala said the Hajj Camp has an administrative block, camp clinic, screening hall, multipurpose hall, a mosque and lock-up shops.
