EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

AFTER A HOT PURSUIT,THE NIGERIAN POLICE IN BENUE ARRESTED SOME HOODLUMS & RECOVERED SOME GUNS.

                 On the  1 st of March,20 1 6 at 9pm,upon information received that some hoodlums has concluded plans to rob unsuspecting motorists along Gboko/Buruku Road Benue State on the  1 st of March by 7aam,the Police operatives positioned themselves strategically and at about 8am of date,the hoodlums arrived and four suspects were immediately arrested by personnel after a hot pursuit by police.Items recovered include,one Toyota Corolla car,one AK-47 rifle,four rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition,one locally made pistol and three rounds of 9mm ammunition.Information indicates that the gang is behind the current robberies in Buruku axis.Investigation is still in progress.One more photo below.                                                                                                                                                

AMBODE ORDERS THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MILE 12 MARKET,AFTER THE ETHNIC CLASH TODAY.

                 Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode today thursday ordered the temporary closure of the Mile  1 2 Market,following a dispute which erupted within the communities in Ketu-Mile  1 2 area of the state.The Governor also announced the restriction of movement on four streets in the area including Oniyanri Street,Maidan Street,Agiliti  1  and Agiliti 2 streets.Addressing Government House Correspondents at the Lagos House,Alausa,Governor Ambode said the decision to shut the market and restrict movement on the streets was to aid security agencies restore calm in the area.''In order to further restore calm,i have ordered that Mile  1 2 Market be temporarily closed and urged traders,community leaders and other stakeholders to eschew violence,be calm and law abiding.Furthermore,i have also ordered a temporary restriction of movement in the following streets;Oniyanri street,Maiden Street,Agiliti  1 and Agiliti 2''.The Governor said the police and security opera

F.H.C IN ABUJA,HELD TODAY THAT MTN NIGERIA MUST FACE TRIAL OVER AN ALLEGED COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.

                                                    Today thursday,a Federal High Court in Abuja held that MTN Nigeria and its Chief Executive Officer,Ferdi Moolman,must face trail over the alleged copyright infringements,notwithstandin settlement with a complainant.Justice Nnamdi Dimgba gave the ruling in an application filed by an Abuja based musician,Dovie Omenuwoma-Eniwo a.k,a Baba 20 1 0,seeking a withdrawal of his complaint against MTN over alleged copyright infringement on his works.NAN recalls that the Nigeria Copyright Commission {NCC} had filed a two count charge against the defendants.In his decision,the judge held that the complainant had the right to withdraw his petition,but the withdrawal would not vitiate the criminal charge against MTN and Moolman.''I hold that the withdrawal of the petition cannot per force terminate the criminal trial.The withdrawal of the petition and perhaps the consent judgement reached by the parties only regulates the parties obligations

DOZENS OF PEOPLE DEAD/MISSING IN ANGOLA,AFTER A FLASH FLOOD THAT SWEPT THROUGH A MARKET.

                         According to sources who said today thursday that,at least 24 people,many of them children,died and dozens were missing in Angola after a flash flood swept through a market in the southern city of Lubango.Flood waters from the Capitao river,swollen by nearly 24 hours of torrential rain in the area,washed through the market,where many young Angolans congregated to wash cars and bicycles.According to sources,more than 30 people were believed to be missing.More photos below.           

5 PEOPLE DEAD TODAY AFTER AN ETHNIC FIGHT IN MILE 12 MARKET,LAGOS.

                 Today thursday,at least five people were killed in an ethnic tussle at the popular Mile  1 2 market in Lagos.The clash which grounded business activities and hampered traffic flow for over three hours reportedly started on wednesday night.Several persons including police officers were also injured,just as buildings were razed.The trouble started today thurday morning after members of the Hausa community in the market stormed the Agiliti area to avenge the death of a motorcyclist.Sources claimed that the unnamed motorcyclist was assaulted with a cutlass by a Youruba man and he died today morning.The deceased Hausa man had an altercation with hoodlums and as he tried to drive off,he unknowingly hit the woman.And following his refusal to part with ticket money,he was allegedly beaten up by the hoodlums who saw the accident as an opportunity to strike.But the news of his death today thursday morning allegedly reignited the fight with some mercenaries imported through the P
