 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

FUEL TANKER EXPLODES IN DELTA,13 PERSONS RESCUED.(PHOTOS).

A fuel tanker exploded on Sunday night, May 15 along Ibusa road in Asaba, Delta State. HGS Media Plus gathered that 13 persons were rescued after the tanker exploded. The explosion was said to have occurred after a Toyota Sienna and a Hilux collided near the broken down petrol tanker under repair. It was learnt that the Toyota Sienna and the Hilux collision was due to over speeding. Fire fighters was said to have battled the fire into the next morning which caused gridlock on the road due to it's intensity. More photos below.

Radical Boko Haram Preacher And Terrorist Recruiter, Ari-Difinoma, Reportedly Surrenders To Nigerian Army The leader of the Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihad (JAS), popularly known as the Boko Haram terrorist group, Alhaji Ari-Difinoma, has reportedly surrendered to the Nigerian Army.   Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, reported that the radical preacher surrendered to the troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama, Operation Hadin Kai, on Monday, May 16, 2022, after he was forced out of his hideout following sustained bombardment by troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

ORTOM VISITS JONATHAN IN ABUJA In a bid to strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family ahead of the 2023 general elections, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 visited former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at his Maitama residence in Abuja. Governor Ortom served as Minister of State, Trade and Investment and later the supervising Minister of Aviation under Jonathan. The duo met behind closed doors for more than 40 minutes. Although none of them spoke to the press when they came out, they were beaming with smiles with the former President exchanging pleasantries with everyone on the Governor’s entourage. TERUNGWA STEPHANIE: WHY I KILLED ABUJA CORPER - SUSPECT, JENNIFER TSEMBE The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command on Monday said it paraded the alleged killers of Abuja missing Corps member along with 3 notorious kidnappers and bandits said to have been terrorizing innocent citizens in Niger state as well as boarding communities in Abuja at the FCT Command Headquarters. Among the suspects paraded was a 26 – year – old, female, jealous lover named Jennifer Tsembe, who criminally conspired with one Monday Simon popularly called Black, 36, and Solomon Abu, 35 and killed one Terungwa Stephenie, age 26 Corper who resides in City homes estate Lokogoma. Ms. Tsembe who confessed to the crime, told Daily asset that she killed the victim to separate her from her estranged lover, Edward Achadu so she could have him all to herself. Omale said the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman, announced the expulsion of the students during an emergency meeting of the Academic Board of the institution on May 12. Court  Jails Two Pipeline Vandals,  Internet Fraudster 15 Years in Asaba  Justice F.O.Olubanjo of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State,  has convicted and sentenced two pipeline vandals and one internet fraudster to  fifteen( 15) years imprisonment. The convicts:  Nabo Arubere,  Kala Kosenen  and Ozemene Azuibuke were jailed on Monday,  May 16, 2022,  after pleading guilty to one- count separate charge,  bordering on  malicious damage of crude oil pipeline and impersonation, upon their arraignment by the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC. Arubere (m) on or about the 16th day of October 2021 in Jones Creeks, Delta State did wilfully or maliciously broke a pipeline for the transportation of crude oil belonging to NPDC/NECONDE oil company and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(7)(a) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap M17 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2007 and punishable under Section 1(7)(b) of the same Act.
