The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Christian Association Accuses Nigerian Government Of Keeping Silent While Terrorists Kill Christians In Kaduna Communities The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State, has accused the federal and state governments of keeping silent while Islamic terrorists under the cloak of bandits massacre Christians in the state.   The State CAN Chairman, Rev. Ongoing construction of Maiduguri Gas Power Plant by NNPC.  The new 50MW Gas Power Plant by NNPC in Maiduguri will be completed by November with Greenvillle signed on to supply 170 metric tonnes of Gas , using 22 Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) trucks daily from Rivers State to Borno.  The LNG trucks will travel 1,700km from Rumuji in Rivers to Maiduguri daily, until the AKK project is launched next year whereby Grenville will begin running a shorter distance from the new Kano gas depot to Maiduguri. This 50MW turbine is said to be the best in the world.  In the event of a Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) supply-chain disruption, a gas reservoir is being constructed that would sustain the turbine for at least 10 running days. Speaking further on the anti-smuggling activities, he noted that as a whole, a total of 8,417 bags of foreign parboiled rice with an estimated duty paid value of N131, 145, 277, which is an equivalent of 14 trailer loads, was seized during the period under review. Court Sends 10 Fraudsters to Jail in Uyo Justices Toyin Bolaji Adegoke and Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State have convicted and sentenced ten(10) fraudsters to different jail terms for different offences.   They were convicted on Friday, June 24, 2022 after pleading guilty to one-count separate charges upon their arraignment by the Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC.   While eight of the convicts: Amos Richard Perekime, Ben Goodluck, Solomon Oghenefejiro Daniel, Ugbabe Ogah Nelson, Prosper Oweifah, Christopher Samuel Akpan, Ojei Ekene Franklin and Uzobo Lucky Divine pleaded guilty to one-count charge bordering on criminal impersonation and obtaining by false pretense, the other two convicts: Ekere Ekong and Obot Eshiet pleaded guilty to a charge bordering on obtaining by false pretences.

Kano Lawyer Bags Two Years Imprisonment for Forgery The Kano Command of the EFCC has secured the conviction of a Kano- based lawyer, Abdullahi Mohammed Hanga before Justice Aisha Mahmud of the Kano State High Court sitting in Kano Hanga was jailed on Friday, June 24, 2022, after being found guilty of forgery based on four-count charges bordering on uttering and forgery preferred against him by the EFCC.
