       Debora Moreira, a Brazilian victim of internet fraud, has acknowledged the receipt of the sum of $4,040 which was recovered on her behalf by the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Moreira lost the money to Emmanuel Tope, a convicted fraudster, in a romance scam. EFCC commenced investigation of the scam in March 2019 and successfully recovered the money, prosecuted an d got the fraudster convicted. The proceeds of crime was remitted into the victim’s account with Bank Itau S/A, Rua Ameirico Brasiliense, through the Central Bank of Nigeria.

      The Sokoto Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested two Chinese: Mr. Meng Wei Kun and Mr. Xu Koi for offering a sum of N50, 000,000( Fifty Million Naira only) as bribe to its Zonal Head, Mr. Abdullahi Lawal. The suspects were arrested on Monday, May 11, 2020 in Sokoto. The bribe was allegedly offered in a desperate bid to compromise ongoing investigations of a construction company, China Zhonghao Nig. Ltd, handling contracts awarded by the Zamfara State Government in the sum of N50, 000,000,000.00( Fifty Billion Naira) between 2012 to 2019.      The Federal Road Safety Corps has arrested a total of 396 vehicles conveying over 2,422 passengers in the general operation area of its 12 Zonal Commands across the country, for indiscriminate violation of Presidential directives on physical distancing in vehicles. According to Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Public Education Officer who made this, the highest number of arrests were recorded in the following states; R ivers, Enugu and Kwara. While Ekiti and Niger States recorded the least number of arrests. He gave the breakdown of the arrests as Rivers 67, Enugu 48, Kwara 47, Sokoto 37, Adamawa 36, Delta 31 and Oyo 23. Others are; Kaduna and Bauchi with 16 arrests each, Ebonyi 14 while each of Lagos and Ondo recorded a total of 11 arrests respectively.      A middle-aged woman has died while many others injured in a fatal accident that occurred along Obosi road in Nkpor, Anambra state today May 8.... According to reports, the accident which occurred around 11.51am, involved nine persons and seven vehicles, including an articulated truck conveying cooking gas, a tricycle, and five other vehicles. The deceased was inside the tricycle and died instantly while the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.     The Lagos state commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi reveal the list of the local government areas in Lagos state with the highest number of confirm Covid-19 cases. Lagos state has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country, it was released in a tweet on 8 May 2020. According to the list released to Community Alert Magazine by the commissioner, Lagos mainland has the highest number of infections, Alimosho, Oshodi, Mushin, Ikeja, Kosofe and Isolo LGA also have increased cases.
