 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites.                                    Today,the Senate passed the 3rd and Final Reading of the 'Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities {Prohibition} Bill {2016} {SB 22}.''.This is a highly significant bill that seeks to curb the abuse in all forms of Nigerians with disabilities.Most importantly,this bill seeks to promote the respect of the rights of all Nigerians with disabilities.In the 6th and 7th Assembly,this bill was also passed,however,for one reason or the other,it was not signed into law.The Senate President said ''Many of you will remember that earlier this year,when i met with the leaders of the Centre for Citizens with Disabilities,i promised that the Senate would work on examining ways to strengthen our laws for people with disabilities.With what the 8th Senate has done today by passing this bill for its third and final time in the Red Chamber,it is my hope that this National Assembly can finally break this jinx by getting it passed by the House o

                            According to CCTV,former Burundi's East African Community {EAC} Minister Hon Hafsa Mossi was shot dead by unknown assailants today wednesday morning outside her home in Eastern Mutanga in Bujumbura.A close relative said ''She was near her home and a tinted car knocked her from behind,she went out to see what happened and was shot twice''.Ms Mossi played a crucial role in Burundi's integration into the EAC and was the current chair of the East African Legislative Assembly Burundi chapter.Mossi is the first Burundi East African Community minister and had been conducting sensitization workshops with the East African Legislative Assembly {EALA} Burundi chapter with different stakeholders at the grassroots level on the benefits of the East African Integration to Burundi.Mossi's killing is part of targeted killings of top government officers by unknown armed groups in the East African nation.Over 500 people have been killed and thousand
