 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

62-YEAR OLD HERBALIST ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING MINOR BROUGHT TO HIM FOR TREATMENT IN ADAMAWA.(PHOTO).

62-year-old herbalist arrested for allegedly raping minor brought to him for treatment in Adamawa The Adamawa State Police Command on Saturday, July 23, apprehended a 62 years old man for allegedly raping a 14 years old minor in Zagun village, Numan local government area. The suspect identified as  Godwin Sanda, a resident of Zagun village, allegedly took undue advantage of the victim's status kept in his custody as a herberlist for treatment.  Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said the incident was reported to the Divisional Police  Headquarters, Numan by the victim's mother Maryam Abubakar. Preliminary Investigation reveals, that the victim was suffering from mental disorder and was rushed to the suspect for possible medication by her mother. In a twist of event, suspect advised the mother to go back home pending when the victim will recover and it was as a result of the mother's absence for a period of five days,

PRESS RELEASE POLICE RECRUITMENT BASED ON MERIT, NOT POLITICS, FAVOURITISM - IGP RESTATES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, has again restated unequivocally that the recruitment process of the Nigeria Police Force is merit-based and not subject to the whims and caprices of any individual or groups of persons irrespective of their position or status in the society. The IGP emphasizes that the recruitment process comprises a physical screening of all applicants who have expressed interest in serving with the NPF by filling the application form online, which is totally free; a Computer-Based Test (CBT), set and organized by the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for all who met the legal requirements for the physical screening exercise as provided by the Police Act 2020; and a Medical Screening of all applicants who passed the CBT Examination to confirm their fitness to take up the policing duty. Few weeks after the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari was attacked in Katsina State, terrorists have threatened to abduct Nigeria’s number one citizen. The convoy of an advance team of the president was attacked on its way to Buhari’s hometown of Daura ahead of Sallah. Two persons sustained injuries in the attack, which the presidency said was repelled. The attack on the convoy happened on the day when the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) invaded Kuje Prison in Abuja and freed over 800 inmates, including all the terrorists in detention. Daily Trust had reported how the train abductors jubilated when the Kuje inmates were released. Use Of ‘Kuskura’ On Dangerous Rise In Zaria “Kuskura” is a popular name for a herbal substance consumed primarily as an intoxicant by youths, women and the elderly in some parts of Zaria, Kaduna State. The substance, a herbal drug is being abused and now taken as a replacement for some banned substances. The abuse of Kuskura is rampant in Zaria as married women, school girls and boys are not left out in the disturbing practice. Daily Trust Saturday reports. During his inspection tour, Governor Dapo Abiodun declared a state of emergency on the Lagos-Sango Ota-Abeokuta Road and also stated that his administration is giving the Federal Government a 2-week window to intervene on this road. At it's expiration, the Governor noted that the State Government would, putting the safety and comfort of its citizens first, have no choice than to immediately intervene through total  reconstruction. The governor was also at the Owode-Ilaro Road where he was made to understand that the contractor handling the Owode-Iwoye end of the road, RAJCOM is not living up to expectations.
