 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

A mum has spoken out after receiving backlash for the name she picked for her son after appearing on a TV debate criticising baby names.  Josie Barnes, 27, called into the debate on the Jeremy Vine show while they were discussing whether it was rude to criticise people's choice of baby name.   She had called her seven-month-old son Lucifer and also has a six-year-old daughter with six middle names.  The mum-of-two from Plymouth said Lucifer popped into her head one day. She told Plymouth Live: "There wasn't any inspiration for the name. I've looked at many baby books and I like unusual names.  I don't like having the standard names.  "I assumed I was having a girl so I picked a girl's name because we are a very female-dominated family - I was going to call her Narnia, but then I found out I was having a boy.  "I like the names I like, it may not be right for other people. A video which has gone viral online, has captured moment Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state fired back at a radio presenter after being asked for an update on one flyover he’s been building for six years. The Abia state Governor who stated that most of those seeking an update on the flyover don't have cars, also said that it's nobody's business as he decided to start the project on his own.  ONE SOLDIER ARRESTED AS INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING TO IDENTIFY AND ARREST ALL CULPRITS IN THE UNFORTUNATE ASSAULT ON TRAFFIC WARDENS IN IBADAN Following the viral video of an assault on two traffic wardens by men on military uniform suspected to be soldiers, the Headquarters Nigerian Army ordered immediate investigation to identify and arrest the culprits. Preliminary investigation has shown that the unfortunate incident took place on Friday, 7 January, 2022 at Adeoye Road by Ring Road, Ibadan.  The investigation is also already yielding results as one of assailants, a Lance Corporal of the Nigerian Army has been taken into custody. The transaction was done conducted on the 13th of December 2021 and since then she has not delivered the shoes neither has she sent a refund. Her first date of delivery was after Christmas which she failed to meet. Rest In Peace, Chief Ernest Shonekan Chief Ernest Shonekan who headed the Interim National Government that succeeded the junta of General Ibrahim Babangida, has died. Shonekan died in Lagos at the age of 85. He was the interim head of the Nigerian Government between August 26 and November 17 1993 when he was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.
