 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.                                                                   According to sources,a Zimbabwe Christian prophet,identified as Shepherd Bushiri,who is part of the Enlightened Christian Gathering said he invited cameras into his home after previously being labeled a fake.From the footage of the video,which was recorded in his Malawi mansion,he appears to perform the feat after walking off the last step of his home staircase.But his miracle falls flat after the camera also captured the shadow of a man running away to the right after the prophet's feet returned to the solid ground.The camera pans to the left to avoid capturing the person slipping out of the door.According to African media,Bushiri told his followers that ''If i can walk in the air,somebody thinks i can never capture a simple picture in the spirit.I know who i...

                    According to sources,Sierre Leone athlete Jimmy Thoronka was told by the United Kingdom authorities to leave the UK by monday or face arrest after his application to remain in the UK to start his studies in September was denied.Thoronka is Sierra Leone's top 100 meter sprinter,who remained in the UK,out of fear of contacting Ebola virus,that have killed thousands of people in Africa.Well he should take heart,and come back to his country.More photos below.

TO CURB ASSASSINATIONS BURUNDI PRESIDENT,GIVES ILLEGAL ARM OWNERS ONE MONTH TO RELINQUISH THEM.

                     Late yesterday wednesday night,President of Burundi said those in possession of illegal arms in their country,have a month to relinquish them and that authorities will hold to account the few security officials behind cases of killing and torture.He made the statement yesterday after the U.N human rights chief said this week that there had been an alarming upsurge in arrests and killings,with some bodies of victims showing signs of torture.Beyond the period,who ever is caught with arms will be punished.''Even if they are few,we are going to seriously deal with them as criminals''.The president of Burundi said the Judiciary had uncovered cases of security officers caught red handed killing or torturing people while they are supposed to be ensuring peace and security.

            During the nationwide  broadcast today thursday to mark Nigerian 55th independence anniversary,he said he was aware of anxiety and heat generated in Nigeria and abroad by the delay in appointing his ministers.He said ''Fellow Nigerians,there has been a lot of anxiety and impatience over the apparent delay in the announcement of ministers.There is no cause to be anxious.Our government set out to do things methodically and properly.We received the handing over notes from the outgoing goverment only four days before taking over.Consequently,the Joda Transition Committee submitted its report on the reorganization of federal government structure after studying the handover notes.It would have been haphazard to announce ministers when the government had not finalized the ministries to optimally carry the burden of governance.Order is more vital than speed.Careful and deliberate decisions after consultations get far better results.And better resul...

                      Today thursday according to NAN,Ayo Fayose,the Governor of Ekiti state,canclled all forms of fanfare as well as stadium parades usually held on Independence Day celebrations.Fayo in a broadcast said there was nothing to celebrate in view of the economic situation in the country.''The current situation demands sober reflection from all and we cannot pretend about this''.He ordered residents to stay at home and enjoy the celebration in low key.
