 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

DRUNK DRIVERS IN THAILAND,WILL NOW BE SENTENCED TO THE MORGUE TO WORK,AS PUNISHMENT.

                  Anyone caught drunk driving in Thailand will be sent to work in a morgue under new measures which aim to reduce the country's high rate of road fatalities,and it is approved by the Thai government.The Bangkok post reports that those convicted of the offense could be sentenced to time at a hospital morgue.Thai courts sentence those convicted of drunk driving to community service,which uually entails roadside work or helping hospital staff treat those involved in car crashes but the country's Probation Department said it does not have as much of an impact.Nonjit Natepukka,a senior official is quoted in the Telegragp as saying ''We think the intensity that comes from working in a morgue will help give those doing community service a clearer picture of what happens after accidents caused by drink driving''.The announcement came on the eve of the Songkran festival,which is seen as one of the two most dangerous times on Thai roads,the other being wes

A KENYA MAN ''SUDI'',SENTENCED TO DEATH TODAY FOR KILLING A MUSLIM CLERIC.

                  A 44 year old Kenya man Sudi Mohamed Sudi,was sentenced to death today friday for killing {shooting} a Muslim cleric  Mohammed Idris,who had campaigned against radical interpretations of Islam.He shot him dead in 2014 in port city of Mombasa,a popular tourist destination which officials say has also become a recruiting ground for ultra hardline preachers.The cleric,chairman of the moderate Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya {CIPK},was killed near a mosque on June 10,2014.Sudi was arrested a day later and charged with the murder,which he dniedDuring the trial in Mombasa,police witnesses said they had recovered a hand grenade,a pistol,and explosive material from Sudi.A member of the Sudi's family,told pressmen that they would appeal against the ruling.One more photo below of Sudi.

GHANA & TOGO ARE THE NEXT TARGETS FOR ISLAMIST MILITANT ATTACKS-MEMO.

                  According to a memo from Ghana Immigration Service,Ghana and Togo are the next targets for Islamist militants following high profile attacks this year in Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast.The memo calls for better boder protection in the latest sign of a heightened government response to the threat to West Africa by militants based in northern Mali who have stepped up a campaign of violence in the last year.It says the National Security Council Secretariat {NSCS} has evidence from neighbouring Ivory Coast from the interrogation of a man suspected of orchestrating an attack on March 13 in which 18 people were killed.The memo,dated April 9 and published by Ghanaian media says ''Intelligence gathered by the ..NSCS indicates a possible terrorist attack on the country is real...The choice of Ghana according to the report is to take away the perception that only Francophone countries are the target''.It ordered immigration agents on the northern border with Burki

                        A United States academic report for 2015 has suggested that the Igbo of South Eastern Nigeria are the most brilliant black African race.According to the report ''a search through the promotional materials of school for a black student,all schools and colleges would always show black faces in their promotional materials if they have any-reveals that they have had at least one black student,and it was,unsurprisingly,a Nigerian Igbo''.This follows the report on the story of two teenage Nigerian high school students,who broke a record of being accepted by eight Ivy League schools in the United States.The report further revealed that if only environmental factors were responsible for the different Intelligence Quotients {IQs} of different populations,the world may expect to find some countries where Africans had higher IQs than Europeans.One more photo below.

                                    A nine year old boy has married a 62 year old wife for the second time according to their tradition to appease their ancestors.Sanele Masiela married Helen Shabangu for the second time after marrying last year..Sanele claims to have been told by his ancestors to get married and Helen,a family friend,obliged.The wedding was attended by 100 guests excluding Helen's five children aged between 38 and 28 years and was officiated by Helen's 66 year old husband Alfred Shabangu.The two newly weds are said to live in their separate homes.The boy's mother said ''It was nice to celebrate with a wedding one more,it was after all a calling from the ancestors.By doing his,we made the ancestors happy.If we hadn't done what my son had asked then something bad would have happened in the family''.More photos below.
