        Nigeria has been commended for its determination and zeal in tracing and recovery of criminal assets. The commendation was made during a bilateral meeting between the Acting EFCC Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Magu and Dr. Nassar Abaalkhail, Head of International Collaboration, National Anti-Corruption Commission, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was sequel to the delivery of a paper by Magu on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the ongoing 7th Session of Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption holding in Vienna, Austria. The 10 page paper entitled: International Cooperation in Relation to Tecnical Assistance: The Nigerian Experience, gave detailed efforts of the Commission at tracing and recovering all stolen treasures from the country's coffers.        The Anglican Bishop of Maiduguri Diocese, Rt Revd Emmanuel Morris has commended Officers and men of the 7 Division, Nigerian Army for the active role and services rendered by the Division in combating Boko Haram Terrorists adding that only God can reward them enough for the sacrifices.       The Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service has  arrested two trailer trucks belonging to Dangote Group discovered to be  loaded with 365 bags of 50kg size Foreign Parboiled Rice. While inspecting these seizures at the Command Headquarters, the Customs Area Controller, Compt. Nasir A., disclosed that Foreign Rice which was prohibited from entry through the Land boarders contravened Federal Government’s fiscal policy on Rice. The CAC also revealed that the contraband items were arrested as a result of the vigilance of his Team of Officers on Border Patrol along Ilella /Sokoto Road.The contraband item which had a Duty Paid Value of N8, 748,320.00 (Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Forty Eight Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty Naira) was arrested at on Friday, 0150hrs and Monday, 0529hrs respectively.Two Suspects were arrested along with the contraband items, the suspected importer is also in the custody of the Area Command and will be prosecuted  in due cou

       The Lagos State government has confirmed the admission of a man identified as Babatunde Adeola at the Alimoso General Hospital. The man, who was reportedly picked up on Tuesday in an unconscious state at Cele busstop on Akowonjo Road in Egbeda but was regrettably dumped back on the street due to staff indiscretion, is now responding to treatment after his resuscitation. In a reaction by the state's Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, on Wednesday, the government said "meningoechenpalitis" an infection of the covering of the brain and the brain cells is the initial diagnosis for the man who is suspected to be a destitute. He added that the infection is suspected to have been caused by "heavy substance abuse".       Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday commissioned the new access road connecting the premises of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja from Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way. Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Ambode expressed delight at the completion of the project, saying it was designed to facilitate faster access to medical care, thereby saving lives. He said it was a thing of joy that after about three to four decades, another access road had been created to LASUTH. In his words: "We are delighted to be here. We believe strongly that the major cornerstone for the growth of the economy of Lagos actually lies in the hands of all of you here because if we don't have a healthy state, we cannot have a productive economy and that was why we decided that we would pay greater attention to the health sector."
