  Pursuant to its commitment towards the enhancement of Nigeria’s National Research and Development (R&D) efforts as well as the encouragement of youth participation in innovative endeavours, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 20 October 2020, hosted 4 talented youths from Ilorin, Kwara State, who had built an aircraft prototype capable of ground motion. The efforts of the 4 youths; Mr Musa Aliyu, Mr Abdulateef Anafi, Mr Abbas Jamiu and Mr Jimoh Ahmed; came to light after a video of them taxiing the prototype aircraft they built was circulated via social media.   Nigerian Army says it has arrested the soldier who recorded a video begging his colleagues not to shoot at #EndSARS protesters..They wrote ''The hooded soldier hiding behind the mask to commit cybercrimes has been apprehended in the ongoing cyber operations in support of Crocodile Smile VI.Be rest assured cyber criminals have no hiding place''. The soldier now identified as Lance Corporal Harrison Friday, wore a hood in a video he made in which he begged his colleagues not to shoot at end SARS protesters even if they were sent to do so. In a post shared on its Twitter handle this morning October 21, the Nigerian Army says Harrison carried out 'cybercrime' and that he has now been arrested..One more photo below.

Recall some protesters were allegedly killed after security agents fired gunshots to disperse the protesters at Lekki tollgate on Tuesday night, October 20. Reacting on Twitter, Peter Obi condemned the alleged killings, saying shooting of protesters while they were singing the national anthem is "unconscionable" The former Governor of Anambra state also stated that the lives lost during the gun attack is a 'collective loss' to the nation and not just to their families who are grieving.   The EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Office, has arrested one Patience Simon Robert, an impostor who, while posing as an officer of the EFCC, allegedly defrauded many people with propositions of employment in the EFCC and Nigeria Customs Service, NCS. Patience was arrested following a complaint by a victim whom he collected N1.5million from under the pretext of helping to secure jobs for his children in the EFCC. The complainant equally revealed that the suspect tricked his younger brother to part with the sum of N300,000 after promising to get his children employed in the NCS. Investigation reveals that suspect had severally been arrested for impersonation and fraud by the Nigeria Police and other agencies. It was discovered that she had been charged to a Magistrate Court in Minna, Niger State, for impersonation and obtaining money under false pretence.   The trial of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, before Justice Tsoho of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, could not continue on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, due to his absence in court. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is prosecuting Fani-Kayode on a five-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N26million. At the resumed trial today, defence counsel, Wale Balogun, told the court that the defendant was unable to make it to court from Lagos as a result of the curfew imposed in the state by the Lagos State government due to the ongoing #EndSARS protests by youths in the state. Prosecuting counsel, Faruk Abdulmalik, however, urged the court to revoke the bail granted the defendant on account of his absence, which the judge declined. Justice Tsoho adjourned the case till December 2, 2020, for continuation of trial. Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, slated December 4, 2020, to review the audio evidence, which captured Senator Shehu Sani’s voice, allegedly extorting USD$25,000 (Twenty-five Thousand United Stated Dollars) from Kaduna-based business man, Alhaji Sani Dauda of ASD Motors. Sani who was the senator, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Senate allegedly demanded the sum, based on his claim that he would use it to bribe the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Muhammad Tanko and Ibrahim Magu in an event Dauda’s estranged son-in-law, one Abubakar Musa petitions the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against him. A petition from Dauda to the EFCC after Sani had allegedly extorted the sum from him led to the Commission’s investigation of the matter and Sani’s eventual prosecution on a two-count criminal charge, bordering on name-dropping, influence-peddling and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of USD$25,000.0
