Recall that Happie Boiz made news in June after they called out the clergyman who sent them on scholarship to Cyprus. Fishermen catch marine animal, Manatee in Apparanbie community, Akassa Island, in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The fully aquatic mammal was caught on Wednesday 6, September 2023 at 6:19 pm.  Manatees are sometimes known as sea cows.  All three species of Manatees are classified as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) They are threatened by habitat loss, collision with boats, and pollution.  Court Upholds Ned Nwoko’s Victory, Orders Rerun In Warri South LGA The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Asaba, the Delta State capital, has upheld the victory of Senator Ned Nwoko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the lawful winner of the Delta North Senatorial Election held on February 25, 2023. The three-man Tribunal led by Justice Catherine Ogunsola dismissed the petition filed by Ken Kanmma of the Labour Party (LP) for lack of merit. Delivering the unanimous judgment, the Tribunal held that the petitioner failed to prove his case as he could not tender before the Tribunal any relevant document to prove a case of non-compliance as contained in the petition. Kano man returns dëäd father's salary to state government A young man identified as Yusuf Sulaiman Sumaila has been commended by Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for returning the salary received through his dead father’s account to the government coffers. In a statement released, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Digital Media, Abdullahi Ibrahim, said Sumaila’s father died in October 2022 but the state government continued to pay his salary until August 2023. A police officer who was k!lled during a gun duel with kidnappers in Enugu, has been identified as Inspector Nege Tavershima from Mbayion, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.    Recall that operatives of the state Police Command neutralised two kidnap suspects terrorizing motorists along the Enugu-Ugwuogo-Opi-Nsukka road at the weekend.  Inspector Tavershima, who was attached to the Enugu State Government House was on escort duty with officials when they ran into the kidnappers and he joined other police officers to engage the hoodlums.  The Command's spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement, said the incident happened on Sunday, September 3, adding that several other hoodlums escaped with bullet wounds. “Police Operatives of Enugu State Command, in the evening hours of 03/09/2023, foiled an attempt to kidnap some road users at Ogbeke-Nike, along Ugwogo-Nike/Opi/Nsukka road. No part of her body was mutilated- FUOYE confirms d€ath of student The Federal University of Oye, Ekiti state has dismissed reports claiming the body of one of its students, Atanda Modupe Deborah of the Faculty of Basic Medical Science, was mutilated by yet to be identified persons. The 100-level student of the institution went missing after she went to study in the class on Monday night, September 4, 2023. After days of searching for her, her body was found buried in a shallow grave behind her faculty with her eyes plucked out on Wednesday, September 6. Unconfirmed reports had claimed that her eyes were plucked out by those who k!lled and buried her. Akeredolu returns from three-month medical leave Aviral picture of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state’s return from the months medical trip in Germany has surfaced online. It was learnt that Akeredolu’s cabinet members were already in Ibadan to welcome him. Akeredolu began medical leave in June and was extended indefinitely by the state House of Assembly. The Ondo governor had transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in line with constitutional provisions. Photographs and video of the Governor in a German hospital emerged when he celebrated his 67th birthday. In the video, the Governor was seen dancing alongside his wife and close associates.
