 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites.                Today thursday in Abuja around Nyanya,motorists and other passersby ran for safety thinking a car parked without the driver insight will explode.According to eye witnesses,they claimed ''The driver just parked the car and left in a hurry,prompting soldiers nearby to be suspicious and people in traffic on seeing the soldiers surrounding the car began to run in different directions''.

EX-PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO,WARNS WEST AFRICA LEADERS AGAINST DRUG PUSHERS.

              Ex-President of Nigeria,Olusegun Obasanjo who chairs the West Africa Commission on Drugs {WACD} said while presenting his report on wednesday to Ghana's president John Mahama that West Africa is no longer only a transit zone of drugs but an attractive destination where drug pushers take advantage of the weak political system to perpetuate their trade.We believe that we should confront openly the political and governance weaknesses which the traffickers exploit''.The former United Nations Chief Kofi Annan set up the commission last year to explore ways to stem the increasing traffic of drugs and its use in the region.
