 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

MINOR FIRE OUTBREAK AT WARRI REFINERY CONTAINED This afternoon, at about 15:02hrs, there was a minor fire incident at the cooling tower of Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC). The fire which occurred as a result of ongoing welding activity at the top of the cooling tower will not affect the refinery rehabilitation project delivery schedule. NNPC Limited safety officers at the Refinery acted immediately and put out the fire at about 15:30hrs; normalcy has since been restored.

 Policewoman Among Seven People Killed In Deadly Benue Bank Robbery  A policewoman identified as Emmanuella Ankyov, was among seven people killed during a robbery incident in Otukpo area of Benue State. The suspected robbers were said to have stormed the Otukpo town at about 3:10 pm and operated for more than one hour. According to an eyewitness, the robbers first attacked the Otukpo Police State and disarmed all the policemen before carrying out the robbery in banks, shooting indiscriminately.   The location of the banks which is very close to the major market in Otukpo, caused a huge stir in the town as traders were seen running for their lives. I5 PERSONS KILLED IN OTUKPO 4 BANKS ROBBERY. (PHOTOS).

15 persons killed In Otukpo 4 Banks Robbery.   Armed robbers attacked four banks in Otukpo and killed 15 people today. The Banks are: Access Bank, First Bank, U.B.A and Zenith Bank. The information had it that seven persons were killed at the UBA, two persons were killed at Zenith Bank, two at Stanbic IBTC while about three perons were killed at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Otukpo which is located directly opposite, beside and adjacent the main branch of First Bank in Otukpo town, the Stanbic Bank and Access Banks. Also,  at the Homeland Defense Office, the local vigilantes' office, two persons were gunned down but only one of them is alive at the time of filing this report.  They robbed uniteruptedly for two hours and left comfortably...  The report also has it that as the robbers were making out of the town after two hours of uninterrupted robbery, soldiers reportedly barricaded them along Otukpo/Taraku road and killed one of the robbers during exchange of gunfire. Medical report affirmed that there was “no hymen visualized” in the victim’s private part – Police gives update on 4-year-old allegedly defiled with scissors by Proprietor. The police have given an update on the 4-year-old pupil whose hymen was cut with scissors while she was at school in Agbor, Delta State. Recall that Innocent Ezeukwu, the Proprietor of Great Leaders International School, was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a 4-year-old pupil at his school (read here). In a statement released today, Oct. 20, DSP Edafe Bright, the PRO of the Delta State Police Command, explained that the victim had told her mother at home that her “uncle at school” used scissors to cut her private part. The proprietor was arrested since he is the only male figure in the school. Hon Njoku Chidiebere posted👇 "The story I just heard that happened at EMERALD SCHOOL ABA is giving me a heavy migraine. Somebody brought his kid to school only to come to pick him and they are telling him that's he is in the hospital, getting to the hospital he only saw the lifeless body of his 2 years old kid. EXERCISE STILL WATERS III: TROOPS RAID CULTISTS CAMP, Rescue Kidnap Victim in Edo The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja in a proactive move, recently flagged off various exercises across the geopolitical zones in the country to mitigate surge of insecurity in the months dovetailing to the end of the year 2023. These exercises are already yielding positive results, as troops of 16 Brigade on Exercise STILL WATERS III successfully conducted a raid operation on a suspected cultists' camp within Oloibiri oil field, at Otuabagi community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. During the operations, 8 members of the cultist group were nabbed in their hideout.  THIS IS A CASE OF MALTREATMENT BY STEPMOTHER 20th October, 2023     This is Ele-Ojo Okpanachi 20years, a daughter of one Mr. Friday Okpanachi,  a native of Aloma in Ofu LG of Kogi State who resides in Kabayi area of Mararaba. Eleojo's mother died and the father Friday Okpanachi married Martha Okpanachi with GSM 08038886195 whose Facebook page and picture attached. The Martha met Ele-Ojo last night sleeping on the sitting room couch and sliced her face and thigh with a razor saying she was supposed to sleep in her room instead of sitting room. The said Martha (StepMum) who is a native of Adupi in Olamaboro LG is currently on the run because Mr.  Friday Okpanachi is looking for her. For clarity and for members of the public not to be misinformed, the Command wishes to state as follows; On 5th October 2023 at about 1700hrs, one Mrs. Joy Chukwudi reported that while she was bathing her 4-year-old daughter, she discovered a blood stain in the private part of her daughter. CAF releases match schedule for 2023 AFCON The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday released the official match schedule for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The draw for the biennial competition took place in Abidjan last week. The 34th edition of the biggest sports event on African soil will take place from 13 January to 11 February 2024 in Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouake, San Pedro, and Korhogo. The opening game will feature hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau on Sunday, January 13, 2024 at Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe, in Abidjan. The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Equatorial Guinea in their first game on Monday, January 14. It will be followed with games against Cote d’Ivoire on January 18 and Guinea-Bissau on January 22.
