DRAMA AS MOHBAD'S EIFE FINALLY GETS SERVED DNA COURT ORDER ON HER HOUSE GATE. (PHOTO).

 Drama as Mohbad’s wife finally gets served DNA court order on her house gate Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer, Mohbad has been finally served the court order for a DNA test. It was reported that the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu had granted the order that Omowunmi needed to be served a notice of the pending DNA test application. The legal team told the court that the Sheriff of the court had attempted twice to serve Wunmi the court process but failed and the Chief Magistrate then ordered that Wunmi should be served by posting the court process on her last known address. In an update to it, the court order has been finally delivered to her. The court order letter was pasted on the mother of one’s house gate.

Automation of passport application 99% done, to go live next week – Minister  The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo said automation of passport applications is 99% complete and expected to go live next week. Tunji-Ojo disclosed this in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday. He said, “Automation of passport applications is 99 percent done. We’ve done the testing, and we should be going live in the next week or thereabouts.  “That will ensure that all Nigerians need to do in an immigration center—a passport center—is just biometrics, just to take your fingerprints. Japa: Five LUTH wards shut, beds empty, say Reps The House of Representatives Committee on Health has revealed that not less than five wards with about 150 beds, have been closed down at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba due to a shortage of health workers. The chairman of the committee, Dr. Amos Magaji explained that the five wards had to be shut because there were no health workers to operate them despite the large number of patients received at the institutions on a daily basis. While lamenting that the institution was under threat as a result of brain drain, the health committee chairman stated that many health workers in LUTH, especially nurses and doctors, had left the teaching hospital in search of greener pastures. N1.2billion Alleged Procurement Fraud:   Contracts Awarded by Emefiele Didn’t go Through Tender Committee- Witness A Third Prosecution Witness, PW3, in the trial of Godwin Emefiele, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Oluwole Owoeye, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, told a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, presided over by Justice Hamza Muazu that all the forty-five (45) contracts awarded by the erstwhile governor of the apex bank, did not go through the Contract’s Tender Committee of the bank. Owoeye, Head of the Secretariat of the Major Contract Tender Committee, MCTC, disclosed to the court that any contract in excess of N10million must go through MCTC, however, the award of the contracts, though within the threshold of the contract that ought to have gone through MCTC, did not go through the Committee.  Thieves Forced To Drink Alcohol Stolen From South African Shop  A viral video on Wednesday shows the moment thieves were asked to drink alcohol drinks they stole from a shop in South Africa.  The video was posted by a South African journalist, Velani Ludidi,who stated that the thieves broke into a store and stole alcoholic drinks.  He added that when the thieves were caught a day after, the owner of the shop forced them to drink the alcoholic drinks they stole or risk jungle justice.  “Thieves broke in and stole alcohol worth 14k. They were caught a day later with the alcohol. The owner said they must drink it all in one go or face umphakathi. Why I won’t challenge my loss in court – Dino Melaye The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate in the just concluded Kogi State Governorship election, Senator Dino Melaye has announced his decision not to seek legal redress following his electoral loss.    Melaye said his decision was hinged on the fact that the judiciary has allegedly become an arm of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.   He said this at a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday. According to him, it is now public knowledge that the judiciary under the current administration has become the “lost hope” instead of the “last hope” of the common man. Melaye noted that it was a shame that the judiciary watched helplessly as members of the ruling party boasted of their control over the judiciary during campaigns.

Old, new naira notes to co-exist till further notice – Supreme Court The Supreme Court has granted the request by the Federal Government for the extension of the lifespan of the N200, N500 and N1000 notes that were redesigned under the immediate past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. In a ruling on Wednesday morning, a seven-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice John Okoro, ordered that the old notes remain legal tender until necessary facilities are put in place for their replacement. The old notes, the apex court ordered, ”shall co-exist as legal tender with the new/redesigned ones”. The ruling was on a motion by the Fed Govt, which was moved on Wednesday by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), who was accompanied by the Acting Director, Civil Appeals, Federal Ministry of Justice, Tijani Gazali (SAN). Nigerian US-based Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, has disclosed how he almost abandoned his political science programme at the University of Ibadan (UI), Oyo State.
