He stated this at the Public Presentation and Launch of a book titled ‘NADAMA’, authored by Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara Head of Public Affairs, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) held in Abuja. Burutai added that every day, 33 new cervical cancer cases and 22 deaths are recorded in Nigeria due to this disease, making it the second most common cancer among women in Nigeria and the fourth most frequent deadly disease in women globally. Update: 4th Batch Of Nigerians Arrive From Sudan The Fourth batch of evacuees from the conflict-ridden Sudan, have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The 410 evacuees arrived at the airport on board a Max Airline from Egypt. They were received by government officials at General Aviation Terminal of the airport. According to the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Humanitarian, Disaster management and Social Development, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo 732 people are expected to come in today. RN

PTC To Unveil Programme For Presidential Inauguration The Presidential Transition Council, PTC, is to unveil the approved programme of events for the Presidential Inauguration at a World Press Conference on Thursday, 18th May 2023.  In a statement, the Chairman and secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha said the Inauguration Committee of the PTC had reached advanced stages in its preparation for the peaceful and orderly transfer of power on May 29, 2023. He said various approved events would hold from the week commencing Monday 22nd May 2023.   Boss Mustapha also disowned the fake programme of events for the Presidential Inauguration currently in circulation on the social media.  The Chairman cautioned purveyors of fake news to desist forthwith from peddling falsehood in an attempt to mislead members of the unsuspecting public.

Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal Begins Monday The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, will on Monday commence the hearing of the petitions challenging the declaration of the All Progressives Congress, APC standard bearer, Bola Tinubu as the President-Elect.    Labour Party and Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party and Atiku Abubakar are challenging the declaration of the Bola Tinubu as the president-elect, in the just concluded February 25, Presidential Election.  Other petitions slated for the pre-hearing session Action Alliance (AA) and its presidential candidate Mr Solomon Okangbuan Allied People’s Movement (APM) and its presidential candidate, Princess Chichi Ojei and Actions Peoples Party.  They had all succeeded in filling petitions against the presidential election within the time allowed by law.  The presidential election petition tribunal judges are yet to be officially declared.  Although, Radio Nigeria gathered from

Igbo Businessman, Ikechukwu Simeon Killed By His Abductors After Collecting N10m Ransom May 7, 20230 A multi-millionaire and philanthropist based in Lagos, Mr. Ikechukwu Simeon Ebelebe has been found dead two weeks after he was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in his hometown, Owerre-Akokwa in Ideato-North Local Government Area of Imo State. His abductors killed him after collecting N10 million Naira ransom from his family. Available information reveals that his body was identified in a mortuary, where it was deposited after it was discovered by the police. The report said that his remains were found in a bush in Orumba South LGA, Anambra State. The locals reported a foul smell in the area and upon investigation, found a body that the police confirmed was indeed his. The late Ikechukwu is the CEO of Divine-Ike motors located in Lagos and runs a foundation- “Divine Iyke Foundation for Humanity” that cares for the elderly and the needy in the East.

 LG Chairman Abducted, Orderly Killed  May 7, 2023 The chairman of Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, Boyi Manja, has been abducted by unknown gunmen. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday while he was on transit at Kofai-Ahmadu community in Takum LGA, along Takum-Wukari highway in the State. His Police orderly was killed during the abduction. The Taraba State Police spokesman, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the incident. He said the police in the area were combing the bush to ensure Manja was rescued. ”The kidnappers mounted a checkpoint when they sighted his vehicle approaching, asked that the driver should open the trunk of the vehicle and in the process, those who laid ambush opened fire killing his police orderly. ”The Commissioner of police has ordered that those behind the act be arrested and the victim released unconditionally,” the PPRO stated.

3 killed in Rivers’ cult war 7 May 2023  Three suspected cultists were killed in a gun duel in a supremacy battle between suspected Greenland and Iceland cult groups in East-West road section of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State. A source in the community, who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the shooting, which caused serious panic stopped when the Ahoada East Police Division led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) arrived the scene as the hoodlums fled. Pastor, wife, housemaid perish in Delta gas explosion 7 May 2023  A gas explosion in Delta community has claimed the life of the representative of the President General in the Forum of Presidents-General of Urhobo Kingdoms, Pastor Adese Onos, his wife and housemaid. The explosion occurred on Thursday at Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area, country home of the Deputy President of the Senate and governor candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ovie Omo-Agege. It was, however, earlier reported that the explosion injured Pastor Onos, his wife and their housemaid at their Orogun residence. Reports said they were rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo State, for treatment. But Pastor Onos eventually died due to severe injuries sustained in the gas explosion. Reports also said the cleric’s wife and housemaid were in critical condition at the tertiary hospital. Man arrested for beating his 38-year-old 'wife' to d€ath for seeking to marry another man The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 56years old man, for allegedly beating his 38-year-old acclaimed ‘wife’ to death. The suspect, Aminu Abubakar, a resident of Lelewaji, Shagari phase 2, in Yola South Local Government Area, for allegedly beating his wife, Nana Fadimatu, following a little disagreement that ensued between them when he heard that the deceased is going to marry a new Husband the next day. Angered by that information, the suspect furiously engaged her on May 5 at about 10pm, and applied force on her by hitting her with a hard object as a result of which she fell down unconscious and was later pronounced d€ad. 95-year-old man identified as Alhaji Muhammad Sabo has reportedly married a young girl said to be 14 years old in Abuja community.   The wedding fatiha was held on May 5, 2023, at Dogon Ruwa under Gawu in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja. According to Facebook user, Hussaini Duma Jagaba, the groom said he and his new bride love each.   “As I witnessed this wedding I pray may God save the marriage. 14 year and 95 years. Edo Govt To Invite EFCC As 18 LGAs Generate Only N3m Monthly  Edo State government has threatened to probe, arrest and dismiss any head of local government administration (HOLGA) or council personnel involved in shady deals, resulting in the declining internally generated revenue (IGR). The deputy governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, made the declaration yesterday at the Government House, Benin City, during a close-door meeting with HOLGAs and local government liaison officers. Passengers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja were thrown into a state of panic as a Max Air aircraft crash-landed after a tyre reportedly burst into flames. Newsmen reports that the affected aircraft had just arrived from Yola, Adamawa State. Fortunately, the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire-fighting Service (ARFFS) quickly mobilized to put out the fire. Former President of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Mike Ogirima, gave an account of the incident, stating that the tyre burst occurred after takeoff at Yola Airport. Ogirima said, “We thank God. We are still on the runway and pilot has reassured us.
