       Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode   on Sunday   said his administration will not waver in making the right investment in the coastline asset of the State especially in making it cleaner and safer to boost water transportation and tourism. Governor Ambode, who said this at the 2018 edition of the annual Lagos Boat Regatta held at the Lagoon Waterfront in Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, said though there had been significant investment in waterways, the State Government nonetheless would continue to make further investments and partnerships in the channelisation of the water routes, as well as provision of more standard jetties and ferries.         A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband while he was fast asleep following an accusation of infidelity. The woman, was said to have stabbed her husband to death in his sleep for having a baby with another woman. The incident reportedly happened in Gabon. The deceased who is reported to be a sergeant in the Gabonese army, died immediately after the knife attack by his jealous wife in their room and he wasn’t even taken to the hospital. The wife reportedly killed him, for cheating on her and having a baby behind her back. Taking advantage that he was asleep on Wednesday night, the scorned woman inflicted several stab wounds on the man which led to his death. More photos below.

      The District Head of Mayo Selbe in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba, Jauro Hammangabdo, has over powered a group of kidnappers who attempted to abduct him, killing two and injuring about three of them. Mr. Hammangabdo confronted the kidnappers who invaded his palace on Wednesday night. The kidnappers who were about nine in number gained access to the traditional ruler’s palace and went into his bedroom, but the district head resisted the attempt to abduct him and engaged them in a fight.It was gathered that the monarch used a sharp sword during the fight and killed two of the kidnappers while others took to their heels leaving dangerous weapons behind.The Deputy Governor of the State, Haruna Manu, who visited the area and sympathised with Lamdo of Gashaka, Zubairu Hammangabdo, a brother of the district head, commended the courage of the traditional ruler.He said cases of kidnapping had become a source of concern to the Government and people of the state.T...

    According to Chinenye Genevieve ''A reported case of extreme violence against a child: this little girl's hands in Benin City were placed in a gas stove by her grand mother until her hands got badly burnt because she ate Indomie against her grandmother's wish, because she was hungry. A kind hearted person who witnessed the incident reported the case to the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and the Ministry has stepped in, arrested the grand mother and have taken the child to UBTH for prompt medical care and attention.More photos below.
