EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

AMOSUN APPROVED THE CONSTITUTION OF A NEW GOVERNING COUNCIL FOR THE OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY.

                  The Governor of Ogun State,His Excellency Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON,FCA has approved the constitution of a new Governing Council for the Olabisi Onabanjo University,Ago Iwoye.The Secretary to the State Government in a release stated that the Council members who are drawn from the Academia,Business and Political sectors will be inaugurated at a data to be announced later. FRSC RESCUED 13 PEOPLE YESTERDAY FROM A MULTIPLE CRASH ALONG LAGOS-IBADAN ROUTE.

           Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC} patrol team rescued 7 male and 3 female adults and 2 male and 1 female children from a multiple crash that occurred yesterday on 06/5/2017,0655hrs along Lagos-Ibadan route at 115km from Express Quarry opposite Motherless Baby Home.The victims were taken to the Ibadan Central Hospital and University College Hospital.

               In response to the demands of a 21st Century Mega City like Lagos and commitment towards efficient Land administration and management in the State,the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode led administration has initiated effective and dynamic reforms to reposition Land administration and procedure for the benefit of Lagosians.The Special Adviser to the Governor on Urban Development,Mrs Yetunde Onabule disclosed this at the ongoing 2017 Ministerial Press briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press centre in commemoration of the 2nd year anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in office.Reiterating the importance of Land to everyone and the need to continuously ease the process of Land Administration for better service delivery,the Special Adviser said it becomes expedient to harness the Land Resources for the good of the State and ultimately the benefit of the people,adding that the Lands Bureau is the second highest revenue earner in the State with gross earnings of more than N20 Bi

82 MISSING CHIBOK SCHOOL GIRLS WERE RELEASED YESTERDAY BY BOKO HARAM.

                 It was reported that yesterday saturday,a total number of 82 girls kidnapped from their school in Chibok in 2014,were set free yesterday by the leader of the militant group after a swap.The girls were handed over to the Nigerian authorities at Banki,a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon.The release came almost seven months after the terrorists group handed over 21 other abducted girls to the Nigerian government after rounds of secret negotiations.Boko Haram Abducted 276 girls during a night raid from their school hostel in the Borno state town of Chibok.More photos below.

DSS ARRESTED IFEANYI UBAH ON FRIDAY OVER N11B OIL THEFT.

              Ifeanyi Ubah,the chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Limited has been arrested by the Department of State Services.The agency revealed the arrest yesterday in a statement by spokesman,Tony Opuiyo.Opuiyo said Ubah was arrested on friday in connection with the theft of petrol kept by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,NNPC,in his tank farm in Lagos.The product was valued at over N11 billion.The agency said Ubah's action amounted to economic sabotage,with ''capacity to negatively impact on national economy.In furtherance of his gimmicks to undermine the government and people of Nigeria,he has incited members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers {PTD},a critical player in the downstream sub-sector of the Petroleum Industry,to refuse/stop the lifting of products.This is part of his plans to curry their sentiments and cause them to embark on strike and also stage protests in hiss favour with the ulterior motive of arm-twisting the NNPC to abandon the cause of recove
