 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. FG ALERTS NIGERIANS TODAY OF ISIS NEW RECRUITMENT STRATEGY.

                  The Nigerian Federal Government has urged parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards in order to prevent them from being recruited by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria {ISIS},which has now resorted to targetting vulnerble individuals,including foreign students,using financial inducements to recruit them into the terrorist organisation.In a statement issued in Abuja today monday,the Minister of Information and Culture,Alhaji Lai Mohammed,cited the recent recruitment into ISIS of 27 medical students of the University of Medical Sciences and Technology {UMST} in Sudan as an example of new strategy being used by the organisation to recruit more members.The Minister,quoting a report received by the Nigerian Intelligence Community,said 22 of the 27 students,who travelled to Syria to join ISIS,are Britons.''According to the report,the students were recruited by one Mohamme Fakhri Al-khabbas,a former UMST student from Middlesborough,

                            The Nigerian Navy has intensified effort in her fight against crude oil theft and illegal bunkering once again.The navy iss winning the war gradually on daily basis,Forward Operating Base {FOB} NONNY anti-crude oil theft patrol team acting on information discovered 2 Cotonou boats laden with product susspected to be crude oil along Peter side Creek,the boats were destroyed along with the products.In a similar operation,another Navy Base,FOB FORMOSO's patrol team has arrested 3 suspected vandals/looters onboard a vessel MT FRANKENSEN,other item recovered were,one speed boat with 1x75 HP ngine,one pumping machine,one Hacksaw and spanners.

                                            The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on Monday April 3,2017 arraigned five persons and two companies before Justice I.E Ekwo of the Federal High Court,Calabar,Cross Rivers State on a five count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy,bid_rigging,abuse of office and breach of due process contrary to the procurement Acts of 2007.The defendants are Professor Thomas U. Agan,Chief Medical Director,University of Calabar Teaching Hospital,Francis I.Otu,chief Administrative Officer and head,Legal Services of the same hospital.Others are Okocha Anthony,Emmanuel Etta Nkim,Anchor Industrial & Construction Services Nigeria Limited and Basemark Energy Nigeria Limited.The trio of Professor Agan,Offor and Otu were said to have used their position to corruptly influence the award of contract t the other four accused persons.The contract was executed through inflated cost and so failed to follow due process with the accused persons corruptly e
