The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris has unveiled new regulations and guidelines to guide assisted reproductive technology practice in the State to ensure the processes are safe and effective. Idris, speaking at the launch of the new policy document at Radisson Blue Hotel, GRA, Ikeja said that the guidelines came into existence as a result of the collaborative efforts of private practitioners in fertility medicine and experts in the public sector. He explained that the need to protect members of the public from falling prey to quacks who parade themselves as experts in fertility medicine prompted the Government to intervene. According to Idris, “Many have fallen prey to those who have no medical training at all, as well as those who have some form of medical training but without expertise in reproductive medicine.” The Commissioner recalled that the State Government, since 2017, has been involved in several enlightenment and sensitisation campaigns to

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to announce that they have named their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed with their newborn son earlier at Windsor Castle today. The baby was born on Monday, 6th May, at 05:26 in the morning, weighing 7lbs 3oz at birth and The Duke of Sussex was present.More photos below.

     The Nigerian Navy, NNS Victory Calabar on May 7, 2019 handed over eight persons suspected to be involved in illegal conveyance of oil, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Uyo Zonal Office, including 105 drums of Premium Motor Spirit, and the wooden boat used for the illegal activity. The suspects arrested onboard the boat are: Godwin Eden (Nigerian), Justice Ebanga (Nigerian), Effiong Gilbert (Nigerian) , Manasseh Obani (Nigerian), Ambe Festus (Cameroonian), Alpha Emmanuel (Cameroonian), Sakwe Felix (Cameroonian) and Vasco Mekora (Cameroonian). According to Commander M.D. Fefa who handed over the suspects to the EFCC, the arrest was made on April 28, 2019, by a patrol team from his Command. “My men intercepted the wooden boat ladened with drums of Premium Motor Spirit PMS, concealed under plastic drums of palm oil, at Oron Bar along the Calabar waterways, while they were transiting to Cameroon,” he said.     Four officials of the Kwara State government accused of money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, were on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 returned to the custody of the anti-graft custody, pending ruling on their bail applications at a later date. The EFCC had last week arraigned Abubakar Ishiak, Permanent Secretary, Government House; Shina Akorede, Director of Finance and A dministration; Rasaq Momonu, Controller Finance and Accounts, and Hafeez Yusuf, Cashier before a Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin. The North East Development Commission (NEDC) was established in 2017, after the Bill establishing the Commission was passed by the two legislative chambers.
