EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

LASG UNVEILS GUIDELINES TO REGULATE ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGY.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris has unveiled new regulations and guidelines to guide assisted reproductive technology practice in the State to ensure the processes are safe and effective. Idris, speaking at the launch of the new policy document at Radisson Blue Hotel, GRA, Ikeja said that the guidelines came into existence as a result of the collaborative efforts of private practitioners in fertility medicine and experts in the public sector. He explained that the need to protect members of the public from falling prey to quacks who parade themselves as experts in fertility medicine prompted the Government to intervene. According to Idris, “Many have fallen prey to those who have no medical training at all, as well as those who have some form of medical training but without expertise in reproductive medicine.” The Commissioner recalled that the State Government, since 2017, has been involved in several enlightenment and sensitisation campaigns to

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to announce that they have named their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed with their newborn son earlier at Windsor Castle today. The baby was born on Monday, 6th May, at 05:26 in the morning, weighing 7lbs 3oz at birth and The Duke of Sussex was present.More photos below.

      Students of three public and two private secondary schools will represent Lagos State at the 2019 National Stockholm Junior Water Prize Competition which will hold at the Swedish Embassy in Abuja on Friday 31st May, 2019. To qualify for the National Finals of the competition, participants from Lagos State engaged in five projects as such as, “Water Purifier” by Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Randle Avenue, Su rulere; “Coagulating Effects And Potential Use Of Medicinal Plants And Lower Plant In Wastewater Purification” by Mogaji Millennium Senior Secondary School, Iloro, Agege; “Natural Ultra Water Purifier” by Kuje Senior Secondary School, Lagos. Others are “Absorption Property of Activated Charcoal obtained from Corn Cobs to Purify Water” by Penny International College, Coker Village, Orile Iganmu and “Natural Water Purifying Column” by Marv Grace College, Abule Egba. OIL THEFT: NAVY HANDS OVER EIGHT SUSPECTS,BOAT TO EFCC.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE

     The Nigerian Navy, NNS Victory Calabar on May 7, 2019 handed over eight persons suspected to be involved in illegal conveyance of oil, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Uyo Zonal Office, including 105 drums of Premium Motor Spirit, and the wooden boat used for the illegal activity. The suspects arrested onboard the boat are: Godwin Eden (Nigerian), Justice Ebanga (Nigerian), Effiong Gilbert (Nigerian) , Manasseh Obani (Nigerian), Ambe Festus (Cameroonian), Alpha Emmanuel (Cameroonian), Sakwe Felix (Cameroonian) and Vasco Mekora (Cameroonian). According to Commander M.D. Fefa who handed over the suspects to the EFCC, the arrest was made on April 28, 2019, by a patrol team from his Command. “My men intercepted the wooden boat ladened with drums of Premium Motor Spirit PMS, concealed under plastic drums of palm oil, at Oron Bar along the Calabar waterways, while they were transiting to Cameroon,” he said.     Four officials of the Kwara State government accused of money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, were on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 returned to the custody of the anti-graft custody, pending ruling on their bail applications at a later date. The EFCC had last week arraigned Abubakar Ishiak, Permanent Secretary, Government House; Shina Akorede, Director of Finance and A dministration; Rasaq Momonu, Controller Finance and Accounts, and Hafeez Yusuf, Cashier before a Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin. The EFCC accused them of making “cash payment of N20.3 million to one Energy Multi-Trade Interbiz limited for services rendered to the Kwara State Government House, which cash sum exceeded the limitation of N10 million payable to a body corporate committing an offence contrary to section 18(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended) and punishable under section 12(2) of the same Act.” At the resumed sitting, counsel to the defend

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has taken note of the reactions of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki to the Commission's inquiries regarding his earnings as Kwara State governor as well as on the quality of his financial stewardship in the Senate.       Today, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the Board of North East Development Commission (NEDC). The North East Development Commission (NEDC) was established in 2017, after the Bill establishing the Commission was passed by the two legislative chambers. Then, on October 25th, 2017 President Muhammadu Buhari assented to the Bill, then signing it into an Act. The NEDC is charged with the responsibility to, "among other things, receive and manage funds from allocation of the Federal Account international donors for the settlement, rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, houses and business premises of victims of insurgency as well as tackling menace of poverty, illiteracy level, ecological problems and any other related environmental or developmental challenges in the North-East states"- Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe.      At last,few hours ago,the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out not from the hospital but in Windsor castle,where they allowed only one lucky photographer and media at Windsor castle, to Interview them.Meghan Markle looks very healthy though her Tommy still looked swollen. We are yet to know the name of their baby boy,but for now we call him Baby Sussex.I watcheed the live interview,Meghan Markle can't stop touching her baby and they said other families members are also yet to meet their baby.More photos below.
