 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION,DISASSOCIATE HERSELF FROM A FAKE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT.

                        A statement issued by Mr Haruna Imrana,Director of Communications in the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation,yesterday tuesday in Abuja,warned the general public that the account was false and dubious.It said that the Facebook account was created in the name of the Acting Head of the Federal Civil Service of the Federation,Mrs Winifrs=ed Oyo-Ita.''The general public is hereby warned that the so called facebook account is false and dubious.The acting Head of the Civil Service has no such account.The office of the Head of Service does not advertise vacancies for employment as dubiously stated on the page''.The statement maintained that the account was a scam created by fraudsters to mislead and dupe the innocent job-seeking public.The statement therefore warned that the general public to disregard the Facebook account and any information it may carry.Anyone who engages in any form of dialogue or transaction with persons on the acc

41 PEOPLE DIED TODAY,IN A PLANE CRASH IN SOUTH SUDAN.

                 Today wednesday,a Russian built cargo plane with passengers on board crashed today after taking off from the airport in South Sudan's capital,killing dozens of people.An official said three people on board survived.The precise death toll was not immediately clear after the Antonov-12B plane turbo prop plane crashed soon after take off,leaving chunks of wreckage,bodies and cargo strewn along a bank of a White Nile River.The Civil Aviation Authority said the number of dead was still being counted.Witnesses saw 41 bodies,some of which were covered by cloth.A police officer,who did not give his name because he was not authorized to speak to the media,also put the death toll at 41.Three Sudananese and a child survived the crash.More photos below.

A MAN ''HUSSENI'',WAS ARRESTED & CHARGED TO COURT FOR IMPERSONATING A POLICEMAN.

                   According to sources,a 31 year old man as pictured above and identified as Husseni Elisha have been arrested and charged before a Magistrate court at Ejigbo for allegedly impersonating mobile police officer and he mounted road block to extort money from motorists in Lagos state.He confessed that he did so to raise money to pay his pregnant wife medical bill who recently delivered a baby boy.The Adamawa state born Elisha was arrested at Mosalasi bus stop,at Egbeda area where he mounted the road block causing traffic gridlock and forcrfully extorting money from motorists and motocycle operators.While he was carrying the illegal extortion,a patrol team from Area M Idimu command apprehended him and asked to know why he was doing so.He introduced himself as a mobile policeman and presented a police identity card which was later discovered to be fake.On preliminary investigation,the team discovered that he was not a police man and he was subsequently arrested and took him

MANY PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN A BANK ROBBERY TODAY,IN EDO STATE.

                   Today wednesday,several people including policemen were killed during a bank robbery at Igara headquarters of Akoko Edo  local government area of Edo state.A security guard at the bank was killed at the operation which eyewitness said lasted one hour.The robbery operation was said to have begun at about 6am today shortly after the state's Police Commissioner,Chris Ezike,left Auchi which is about 30 minutes drive from Igara.An eyewitness said the robbers killed a guard and started shooting people after ransacking the bank and attacking policemen at the police station.Many people are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the area.Another witness said the robbers were heavily armed and engaged the police in a shoot out.One more photo below.
