The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                  The Federal Government has described as false the information being circulated on the Social Media to the effect that under a purported Ministry of Interior Regulation,all phone calls and Social Media posts made by the citizens are to be monitored and recorded.In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday Monday,the Minister of Information and Culture,Alhaji Lai Mohammed,described the development as another example of disinformation that has permeated the media space,especially the Social Media.The Minister said the intention of those behind the false news is to give the impression that the Federal Government is working to stifle freedom of speech,which is not the case.''There is no regulation,old or new,from the Ministry of Interior or any federal government agency requiring the recording of all calls or the monitoring of Social Media platforms like WhatsApp,Twitter or Facebook.We are therefore using this medium to inform all Nigerians that what is being circulated

             Today,Anambra State under Governor Willie Obiano signed a Memorandum of Under standing ''MoU} that would ensure the immediate commencement of work on the proposed Umueri International Cargo Airport with a view to having the airport ready for use in three years.The agreement was between the Government of Anambra State,China Aviation,Orient Petroleum Resources Ltd and Elite International Investment Holdings Ltd.Following the successful agreement signing ceremony,Governor Obiano will flag off construction work on the site designated for the airport tomorrow in Umueri.More photos below.

                                                The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,today tuesday ,11th April 2017 arraigned one Omoniyi Ajibade Saheed before Justice N.I Afolabi of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin,Kwara State on a six-count charge bordering on offences contrary to Sections 6 and 8 {b} of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act,2006 and punishable under Section 1{3} of the same Act.The defendant,however pleaded not guilty to the charges.In view of his plea,the prosecution counsel Harrison S.M. LAGOS WANTS COMPULSORY INSURANCE INTRODUCED FOR PROPERTY OWNERS.{PHOTOS}.

             Lagos State Government has expressed its readiness to introduce compulsory insurance to owners of buildingss across the State due to increasing incidence of building collapse and also establish a Safety Institute where stakeholders can be trained and certified.The Director General of Lagos State Safety Commission,Hon. Hakeem Dickson,who made this known on Monday at a Press Conference held as part of preparation for the Naija Safe Awards 2017 at Alausa,Ikeja,said the implementation of the policy would be in synergy with Consortium of Insurance Companies and the National Insurance Commission,NAICOM.Dickson lamented the rate at which Lagosians pass blames on the State Government whenever there is an incidence of building collapse and often berate government for not compensating victims of building collapse whenever it occurs.According to the Director-General,if Lagosians embrace the policy,it would save them from untold hardship,losses and hopelessness associated with unfores

                      The Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC} shared these photos showing the Rivers State Sector Commander,Andrew A Kumapayi,cutting off the hair extension of two female members during the command's parade yesterday April.Their hair was cut off because it contravened some work place regulations.The commission has a rule which states that all female uniformed officers must not have a hairstyle that drops past their collar.More photos below.
