     Troops of 143 Battalion, 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in Madagali, Adamawa State had on Saturday, 9 February 2019 successfully dealt a big blow to Boko Haram Terrorists(BHTs) following an attempted attack by the terrorists to infiltrate the Camp at about 1803hrs. The terrorists who stormed the location in gun trucks and met their waterloo through stiff resistance co upled with massive fire power from the troops and inflicted serious casualty on the terrorists and their equipments. The troops in their effort successfully held their ground, disorganised the terrorists who later lost momentum and retreated in disarray. During the encounter, the resilient troops neutralised many insurgents, captured 1 alive while several others scampered for their lives and fled with gunshot wounds.       Date: 10th February, 2019 PRESS RELEASE The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu NPM, mni has ordered a comprehensive water-tight and round-the-clock security for all INEC offices and facilities nationwide. Consequently, Command Commissioners of Police in the thirty six states of the Federation and FCT have been directed to put in place adequate, functional and purposeful security arrangements aimed at protecting all INEC offices and materials from all forms of crimes and mischief- before, during and after the elections. Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) have also been mandated to monitor compliance level of Commands under their jurisdiction with this directive, and ensure that no breach of security of any kind occurs within and around INEC facilities under their watch.        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Gombe Zonal Office has handed over bales of insecticide-treated mosquito nets recovered from Sunday Ogar, to the beneficiaries. Ogar was convicted on January 30, 2019 for diverting the mosquito nets donated by the Global Fund, a Geneva-based international donor organisation, in collaboration with the Catholic Relief Service and National Malaria Elimination Prog ramme. While serving as an ad-hoc staff of a logistics company contracted for the distribution of 106 bales of the nets, Ogar was to distribute 92 bales, but he diverted 14 bales, containing 50 pieces each. He was convicted by Justice Abubakar Jauro of a Gombe State High Court, and sentenced to one year in prison for “misappropriation” and two years in prison for “forgery” to run consecutively.
