The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT In response to the frequency of reported cases of Gender-based violence and sexual abuse, the Government of Ekiti State has today begun the publication of the names and photographs of convicted sex offenders in the State. This is part of the proactive measures deployed by the State Government to rid Ekiti State of all forms of violence against Women and Children. Today, the Ministry of Justice under the leadership of AG Wale Fapohunda commenced with a Public Notice on the status of Reverend Asateru Gabriel, a former Anglican priest who was convicted for the Sexual Abuse of a seven-year old girl.        The attention of 81 Division Nigerian Army has been drawn to a news story insinuating that soldiers of 9 Brigade on patrol were involved in the killing of three people in Isheri Olofin Community of Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State on the 13th of August 2019. The 81 Division hereby states that the patrol team in response to a distressed call, made a prompt intervention to forestall bloody clash among   the "Isheri boys" who are allegedly referred to as a dangerous cult group terrorizing the community. It is important to also state that there was no firing or exchange of fire between the troops and the alleged cult group throughout the period of the troops' intervention.          Samson Siasia, a former Nigerian football player and National team coach, has been banned for life by world governing body, FIFA, after he was found guilty of match fixing. Siasia who coached various national youth sides before a spell as senior coach in 2016, was linked to FIFA’s long-running investigation into the activities of Singaporean Wilson Raj Perumal who has been described by the football body as a “known match fixer”. Though the time period when FIFA believes he committed his infractions is unclear, however he was found 'guilty of accepting bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches'.          Nigerian comedian, Klint Da Drunk is full of praises to God after surviving a terrible car crash along Bauchi-Jos express road. The comedian wrote, 'please, help me in praising God Almighty for delivering us from the Jaws of death. Along Bauchi-Jos express road, we were involved in a terrible car crash. We boarded a golf 2 on charter as it was the only means to move. The driver was careful enough so I had no issues with him but then, out of the blues, a truck jumped right in front of us. The road was wet as it had been drizzling. The driver tried all he could to stop the car but the slippery road just made it look like he did nothing all I was shouting was "JESUS! JESUS!!      Justice Abiodun Adesodun of the Ekiti State High Court, has convicted a former cashier officer with Fidelity Bank, Ado branch, Ado Ekiti, Michael Adedayo Ihinolurinjon, and sentenced him to ten years in prison for stealing money from the bank’s vault and diverting customers’ deposits to personal use. Ihinolurinjon was on Thursday, August 15, 2019, found guilty of a two-count charge of stealing in a criminal case filed a gainst him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office. The offence, according to the charge sheet, was contrary to Section 390 (g) of the Criminal Code Laws Cap 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012. The bank had written a petition to the EFCC alleging that while still a staffer, Ihinolurinjon stole the sum of N8,891,000 (Eight Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety-One Thousand Naira) from its vault, and also failed to remit a total of N7,251,600 (Seven Million, Two Hundred and Fifty-One, Six Hundred Naira) he collected from customers to t

       The police say it has arrested Onyinye Mbadike, a 24-year-old who was caught on camera locking a young boy in a cage harbouring fierce dogs. Bala Elkana, Lagos State Police public relations officer, made this known in a statement released on Thursday. Contrary to reports that the incident took place in Nsukka, a town in Enugu state, the crime occurred in Aguda, Lagos. Dolapo Badmus, who is the PRO for Zone 2 Police Command, said the boy who is an orphan has been taken to a secured shelter. “The Gender Unit traced the suspect to Chumpe Liquor Store, Surulere and her residence at Aguda,” the statement read. “The suspect admitted that she is the one on the viral video flogging the child with a belt, but she denied locking the survivor in a cage with dogs.        The four family members that died as a result of alleged food poisoning at Amaechara village in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, will be buried on Saturday, 17 August, 2019. The incident took place in May 2019, after the four victims had their dinner which was suspected to have been poisoned. Their bodies were deposited in the mortuary at Matter Hospital in Afikpo North. The deceased include a 100-year-old woman Rikweri Oyiri Udu Ewa, who was found lifeless in the toilet. Others are Justina Eleje Udu, Virginia Mgbo Udu and the youngest Amara Ogonna Inya. Confirming the incident when it happened, spokesperson of the Ebonyi State Police Command, DSP Loveth Odah said the four died mysteriously after taking their dinner. ANOTHER LADY STRANGLED TO DEATH AT A HOTEL IN PORT HARCOURT.{PHOTOS}.

       Another girl was found strangled to death with a piece of cloth hanged around her neck at a hotel in Port Harcourt, two weeks a lady was also found in a similar crime scene. The incident occurred on August 13 as confirmed by River State police command's spokesperson, Nnamdi Omoni. Tweeting about the murder incident, Cool FM's news correspondent Nnamdi Onwuka said the deceased has been identified as Jennifer.
