 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Today, five more patients; four females, and one male have been discharged to reunite with their families and the society. The patients were discharged having recovered fully and tested negative twice consecutively to COVID19. With the newly discharged patients, we now have a total of 55 people that have been successfully managed for COVID19 at our isolation facilities and discharged to the community. This news, especially on this auspicious day, gives me joy and happiness and I am sure it does to you too.      Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong on Sunday 12th April 2020 received Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila who was in Jos to condole with the family of his wife over the loss of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Bisalla who died in Jos at the age of 83. Governor Lalong who received the Speaker at the Government House Rayfield Jos, described the death of Mrs. Mildred Bisalla as a great loss to the Plateau State and Nigeria as she was an epitome of humility, service and godliness. The Governor and Speaker later visited the residence of the deceased in Jos where they were received by her brother, Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi, Anglican Bishop of Jos Diocese.        1. The Anambra State Government has noted with dismay the sudden appearance of propaganda materials against the person purported to be the state’s coronavirus index case. The materials, including social media broadcasts, began to emerge within 24 hours after the state recorded its index case on Friday, April 10. 2. The materials are slanderous and violate all known medical ethics. They were obviously made by persons who want to raise a false alarm and create panic everywhere. The state government has not revealed the name of the index case, nor have the hospital authorities where he is receiving treatment now or has been treated in recent times.       As efforts to bring an end to the Coronavirus Disease, COVID-19 in Nigeria continues, commendations have come the way of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC as the Kwara State governor, AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq has revealed that funds recovered by the Commission for the state have been helpful in setting up Isolation Centres as part of its strategic activities to combat the d isease. It will be recalled that among other recoveries, the Ilorin Zonal Office of EFCC, handed over N263,327,800 (Two Hundred and Sixty-three Million, Three Hundred and Twenty-seven Thousand, Eight Hundred Naira) only to the state in March 2020, being recovered money stolen from the Kwara Internal Revenue Service, KWIRS and 16 Local Government Areas of the state.    April 12, 2020.  The men of Vigilante Group of Nigeria has rescued a 12 years old girl from the hand of a kidnapper at the point of where tge kidnapper was stylishly taking the girl away.The girl named Ogunleye Opeyemi was rescued yesterday at St. John School, Kuto from a woman kidnapper who took to her heels when she saw the officers of VGN who suspected their interactions at Kuto, Abeokuta the capital of Ogun State.Opeyemi at Kuto, Abeokuta Opeyemi during interogation said she came from Ogere to sell pufpuf balls at kuto market so that she can be on her way to meet her parents at Sango Ota, Ogun where they reside.It was later discovered that while Opeyemi was at Ogere, she was maltreated as a house girl which prompt her trying to locate her parents at Sango Ota.The girl has been handed over to the police officers at Ibara police divisional headquaters.One more photo below.

     The Rivers State Government has said that it ordered the arrest of two pilots of Caverton Helicopters and it’s passengers, following the failure of the firm to provide them for tests by the state health authorities. It accused Caverton Helicopters of ferrying over 220 passengers into the state without allowing health professionals of the Rivers State government ascertain their coronavirus status. The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, spoke on Saturday while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, the state capital. Nsirim stated that Caverton Helicopters contravened the Executive Order of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, which required that everyone coming into the state for essential duties subject themselves to mandatory health checks to ascertain their coronavirus status.
