 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre. NCC denies tracking and leaking phone calls of Nigerians The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has denied any involvement in the tracking and leaking of phone conversations between individuals, groups, or organizations. The Commission stated this in a statement issued and signed by its Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Mouka. Part of the statement reads “The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has been inundated with enquiries by the media on allegations of telephone “tracking” and “leakage” made against the Commission by some individuals and groups in the social and alternative Media. The Commission wishes to make the following clarifications, The Commission denies the allegations in their entirety. RAMADAN: HISBAH SHUTS BEER PARLOUR,BANS PROSTITUTION IN JIGAWA.(PHOTO).

Jigawa State Hisbah Corps has ordered the immediate closure of all beer parlours and prostitution spots during the month of Ramadan.   The state’s Hisbah commandant, Ibrahim Dahiru, who stated this in an interview on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, said the move is part of the corps’ efforts to stem social vices during Ramadan.   Dahiru explained that the Hisbah corps has conducted sensitization for commercial sex workers and alcohol sellers.   "We have gone round to such areas across the state and warned the perpetrators of the offences to quit their illegitimate businesses during this holy month of Ramadan or leave the state.”    The Hisbah commandant declared that operatives would embark on general patrol to arrest those who ignored the order.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted bail to "relationship expert" Blessing Okoro for alleged cyber-bullying.  The Nigeria Police Force had arraigned Blessing Okoro, better known as "Blessing CEO”, before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court on six counts bordering on alleged cyber-bullying, libel and for exhibiting uncensored movies.   On Tuesday, April 4, Blessing Okoro's lawyer filed a bail application before Justice Tijjani Ringim of the Federal High Court in Lagos on her behalf, according to SaharaReporters.  The publication added that the police did not oppose the bail application.  Regarding bail conditions, the police urged the court to use its discretion.  The judge granted Blessing CEO bail in the absence of opposition.   She was admitted to N10 million bail each with two sureties in like sum.

Woman Pregnant For 2 Years Reportedly Gives Birth To Catfish In Bayelsa Church A woman who has reportedly been pregnant for 2 years allegedly delivered a catfish during a church program organised by a Bayelsa pastor and founder of Prophetic Light Ministry in Yenagoa, Prophet Diepreye Samuel. Speaking after the 'miracle' happened, the pastor said there is nothing God cannot do and the case of the woman giving birth to a catfish shows that God is always God. Three persons have been arrested at 5, Eromosele Street, Parkview Estate. Ikoyi by the Enforcement Team of Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) and members of Lagos State Task Force for violating the State’s Physical Planning Permit Law.  According to the General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, the three violators, namely Samuel Adeleke (31) Oyewole Israel (21) and one Alhaji Morufu Alade (53), will be prosecuted for breaking government seals unlawfully and by-passing the restriction placed on the property by the Authority to continue construction works without authorisation.  Osinaike recalled that the property was served notices and sealed by LASPPPA officials after which the owner of the said property went on to by-pass the seal and instructed his workers to go back to the site without due recourse to the District Office of LASPPPA at Ikoyi to start the process of obtaining a permit before continuing construction.    He said the arrest will serve as a

 Impostor Bags Four Years Jail Term for UN Job Scam The Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Hadiza Suleiman today April 4, 2023, convicted and sentenced one Ahmad Sultan Sardauna to four years imprisonment for offences bordering on conspiracy and forgery. However, when the matter came up for trial today, Sultan summersaulted,  and pleaded guilty  to the charges against him. Donald Trump Arrested In New York Donald Trump is the first former US President to be arrested on criminal charges. He is being arraigned at the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse on criminal charges said to be related to hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016. He left his home at Trump Tower shortly after 13.00 local time (18.00BST). He waved to waiting cameras, making a fist, before getting into his car. It took just minutes for the former president's motorcade to make the 6.4km drive (4 mile) from his home at Trump Tower to the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse. During the drive, he posted on his social media website: "Seems so SURREAL -- WOW, they are going to ARREST ME". KKaduna State appoints transition committee The Kaduna State Government has announced the constitution of the 2023 Transition Committee, comprising nominees of the outgoing El-Rufai administration and Senator Uba Sani, the governor-elect. FATHER OF THREE SHOT DEAD WHILE CONTROLLING TRAFFIC IN RIVERS STATE. (PHOTO).

Father of three shot dead while controlling traffic in Rivers 4 April 2023  Unknown gunmen dressed in police uniform on Saturday evening shot and killed a man identified as Chukwuka Monye at Rumuokoro Junction in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The deceased, a volunteer traffic warden, was said to be controlling traffic in Rumuokoro, an outskirt of Port Harcourt when the incident happened at about 6pm. He was said to be assisting in clearing the gridlock caused by a downpour when one of the gunmen in police uniform inside a vehicle azscene. A source who did not want his name in print for security reasons said the deceased had an issue with some security personnel, but could not give a proper identity of the people.  “What I heard was that Chukwuka was arguing with some security people, but I don’t know if they are policemen or not.  “He is a very quiet person and very intelligent.
