Under the distinguished leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, psc (+), mni, the Command is dedicated to implementing robust security measures and ensuring a conducive environment for prayer across the State. MTN NIGERIA,DEBUNK RUMOURS OF THE COMPANY'S FINAL SETTLEMENT WITH THE FINE TODAY.

                               Mr Ferdi Moolman,Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria said today saturday in a statement  about the rumours of  the company's final settlement of the N780 billion fine was false.He said-  ''The management of MTN Nigeria is aware of the reports on the settlement negotiations.The confidential negotiations are still very much ongoing with the authorities to achieve an amicable resolution of the matter.Accordingly,no further comment can be made at this time''.The company has been negotiating with the Government over a possible reduction of the fine and made a part payment of $25 1  million {N50 billion},also setting aside $600 million for further payment of the fine.One more photo below.                                                   ...

GUNMEN ATTACKED A POLICE STATION AND A BANK,YESTERDAY IN BAYELSA STATE.

                                                           Suspected armed militants launched an attack on a police station and a branch of the United Bank for Africa {UBA} in Amasoma,Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.It was gathered that the gang of militants stormed the community through the waterways at about  1 am yesterday friday.Shortly after arriving on a speedboat,they were said to have moved straight to the police station located in the area and engaged the police in a gun duel.The bandits who reportedly overpowered the policemen,carted away arms and ammunition from the police station.The rampaging armed robbers later visited the UBA branch with rage shooting sporadically and creating panic among residents.It was gathered that the militants threw dynamites and other explosives at the bank to create access t...

SARAKI'S FALSE ASSET DECLARATION CASE,ADJOURNED TILL MARCH 18.

                          A tribunal considering false asset declaration charges levelled at Nigeria Senate President Bukula Saraki was adjourned yesterday friday to deal with questions over its authority.Saraki who heads the upper house of parliament,has pleaded not guilty to charges that he falsely declared his assets when he was governor of Kwara state from 2003 to 20 1 1 .The  1 3 charges he faces at the national Code of Conduct Tribunal, a special court that tries asset declaration misdemeanors,mostlt relate to the ownership of land held by his company Carlisle Properties Ltd during that period. Other allegations include transferring $3.4 million to an account outside Nigeria while he was governor,and sending  1 .5 million pounds {$2. 1  million} to a European account to cover a mortgage for a London property.The case was adjourned until March  1 8.More photos below.         ...

KAI BOSS,CONDEMNED THE ATTACK ON HIS MEMBERS BY HOODLUMS AT ILE-EPO MARKET,YESTERDAY.

                                 The KAI Marshal General,Mr Jimoh Amusat has condemned the attack on members of the Kick Against Indiscipline,the law enforcement unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment,who were attacked and wounded yesterday friday while clamping down on illegal traders at Ile-Epo market,in Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of the state.The Marshall maintained that such attacks by these hoodlums,posing as illegal traders,will not deter the Agency from carrying out its statutory responsibilities,reaffirming that the state government would not relent in its efforts to step up enforcement to combat non-compliance with the State Environmental Law.Jimoh stated that the Operation/Enforcement was embarked upon following the expiration of the seven days ultimatum issued to illegal traders during a monitoring tour of the market by the Commissioner for the Environment,Dr Babat...
