  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                 His Excellency,Acting President,Professor Yemi Osinbajo has approved the redeployment of some Federal Permanent Secretaries. They are as follows: 1. Dr Shehu Ahmed Present Ministry: Agriculture and Rural Development Approved Ministry: Environment 2. Dr Bukar Hassan Present Ministry: Environment Approved Ministry: Agriculture and Rural Development 3. In a circular issued to that effect signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation,Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita,directed that the processes for handing and taking over should be completed on or before friday,10th March,2017.

             Wife of the President,Mrs. Aisha Buhari has commissioned a mobile clinic programme to provide basic and essential health care services to people,especially those living in hard to reach areas of the country.The event took place on wednesday,1st March,2017 at the State House.Speaking at the event,Mrs Buhari said that the programme is part of the humanitarian services that Future Assured provides to underprivileged Nigerians especially those that reside in the remotest parts of this country.One more photo below.

CGC GRANTS GRACE PERIOD FOR DUTY PAYMENT ON SMUGGLED VEHICLES.

         The Comptroller-General of Customs,Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali {rtd} has approved a grace period of one month,between Monday 13th March to Wednesday 12th April 2017 for owners of all vehicles within the Country whose customs duty has not been paid,to do so. Consequently,all motor dealers and private owners of such vehicles are advised to visit the nearest Customs Zonal Office to pay the appropriate Customs Duty on them. The Four Zonal Offices of the Nigeria Customs Service are: Zone A Headquarters,No. 1 Harvey Road,Yaba,Lagos; Zone B Headquarters,Nigeria Ports Authority,Port Harcourt and Zone D Headquarters,Yelwa Tudu Road,Bauch State The CGC therefore calls on all persons in possession of such vehicles to take advantage of the grace period to pay appropriate duties on them,as there will be an aggressive anti-smuggling operation to seize as well as prosecute owners of such smuggled vehicles after the deadline of Wednesday 12th April,2017.                 Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,has promised to assist the Nigerian Immigration Service,NIS,in tackling the menace of illegal aliens.The governor stated this,today friday,while playing host to the new Comptroller of Immigration Service,Ogun State Command Mr Oluwatoba Bayeroju,at his Oke-Mosan,Abeokuta office. ''Due to our status as the most industrialised state in Nigeria,I am aware that we are prone to the infiltration of illegal aliens.Some of them are here working for some companies within Ogun State,'' Governor Amosun said.He added that,''Some of these companies don't correctly declare the number and or status of the foreigners within their organization in order to evade tax payment.In view of this,we will see to the possibility of assisting the Immigration Service to have offices in all our local government and local council development areas.This will be in addition to the ones already existing in our border communities'

A NOVELTY MATCH WAS HELD YESTERDAY TO MARK EX-PRESIDENT OBASANJO'S 80TH BIRTHDAY.{PHOTOS}.

                   Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,yesterday thursday joined other dignitaries to watch a novelty football match as part of activities marking the 80th birthday of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.The novelty football match saw team OGSG made up of female members of the Ogun State Executive Council and led by the First Lady,Dr Mrs Olufunso Amosun play against the OOPL team led by Chief Mrs Bola Obasanjo,wife of the former President. Team OOPL won the action packed match by scoring 3 goals as against 2 goals scored by the OGSG team.Apart from trophies won by the two participating team,Mrs Obasanjo won the best goalkeeper award while Dr Mrs Amosun won the Most Valuable Player award.
