OYO RESTRICTS MOVEMENT ON SATURDAY FROM 6AM-4PM.(PHOTO).

 Oyo restricts movement on Saturday from 6am – 4pm Movement would be restricted for the duration of Saturday’s local government election in Oyo State, the State Government announced on Friday evening. The restriction will help officials of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) to conduct the poll without hindrance. Election would hold into councillorship and chairmanship positions in the 33 local government areas of the State between 8 am and 3 pm. In an update on its verified ‘x’ handle on Friday evening, it said: “Please note this important announcement regarding movement restrictions in Oyo State on Saturday 27, April 2024 “The Oyo State Government has declared total restriction of movement tomorrow, Saturday, 27th of April 2024, the restriction will be in place from 0600 hours to 1600 hours. “Only providers of essential services are exempted from these restrictions.”

LAGOS STATE TASK FORCE ARRESTED 4 DRIVERS & IMPOUNDED 17 MOTORCYCLES.

                             The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force have arrested 4 private vehicle drivers and impounded 17 motorcycles for driving against traffic in some parts of Lagos.Speaking on the operation,the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force,SP Olayinka Egbeyemi,said the enforcement operation was carried out in view of the need to ensure that motorists comply with the Lagos Traffic Law as well as the series of complaints from residents in Iyana-Ipaja,Pen-cinema,Air-port Road,Ile-zik and Fagba in Lagos.He explained that the force is daily inundated with complaint of motorists and cyclists driving against the traffic,especially at peak hours,resulting in avoidable accidents and loss of lives in the aforementioned areas.On his part,the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr. Fatai Owoseni has directed that drivers of those vehicles and riders of impounded motorcycles apprehended should be immediately charged to court for various traffic offences as contained in the Lag

5 CIVILIANS DEAD AFTER BOKO HARAM AMBUSHED NIGERIAN TROOPS ESCORTING COMMERCIAL VEHICLES FROM DAMBOA.

                 Yesterday afternoon,suspected elements of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists who were foraging for food,ambushed troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE escorting commercial vehicles from Damboa to Maiduguri,at Sanda general area,Borno State.Unfortunately,5 civilians lost their lives at the incident and another died on the way to the hospital.Three solders also sustained injuries.The wounded have been evacuated to Maiduguri.Consequently,another robust patrol team has been despatched to reinforce the troops,clear the general area and pursue the terrorists.This unfortunate incident has brought to the fore the need for more vigilance and cooperation amongst all.We would like to assure the public that we would not allow this isolated incident to thwart the peace and security commuters enjoy along the route and all other opened routes in the North East.Troops are on the heels of the attackers and would not relent till they are on the heels of the attackers and would not relent

                           According to sources,the WAEC's Head of National Office,Mr Olutise Adenipekun,who spoke when members of the Education Writers Association of Nigeria {EWAN} visited his office on tuesday,said the e-maker was introduced to align the assessment of the examination with international best practices.He said ''We are providing service and the people we are providing service for are youths of the country and youth naturally are restless.So they also want to see new things''.Adenipekun explained that the same booklet would serve for question and answers for the theory section.As a result,candidates would no longer be allowed to take questions away from the examination hall.He said some teachers have undergone training to deploy the e-marker,adding that many more would be trained.He promised that the WAEC template of assessing candidates will remain the same adding that it will not be in the interest of Nigeria to lower the standard of the examinati

NIGERIA TROOPS ENCOUNTERED BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN MALLAM FATORI.{PHOTO}.

               As part of Operation GAMA AIKI,troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE and Multinational Joint Task Force captured Mallam Fatori in northernmost part of Borno State after a fierce battle closely covered by air operations.However,the terrorists reinforced around border with Niger Republic.This was while the troops were consolidating on this success.The troops killed several of the Boko Haram terrorists in the resulting encounter and subsequently had to withdraw to a vantage position.The Operation is continuing.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.

EFCC ARRESTED A BUSINESSMAN TODAY FOR N12.1M OIL FRAUD.{PHOTOS}.

                                  The EFCC today wednesday,September 21,2016 arrested a businessman,Abdulhafiz Umar Barau,for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N12,150,000 {Twelve Million One Huindred and Fifty Thousand Naira}.The complainant,Dusus Yyang Bot,allegedly supplied 90,000 {Ninety Thousand ] litres of Automobile Gas Oil {AGO} worth N12,150,000 to the suspect sometime in January this year.The 38-year old suspect had assured the complainant that he would pay the agreed sum of money after the product was delivered to him.However,the complainant alleged that the suspect could not be reached any more after receiving the product.The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.One more photo below.
