 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE OPERATION VELVET: POLICE ARREST TWO FOR ASSAULT AND OBSTRUCTION OF OFFICERS ON LAWFUL DUTY IN BAUCHI The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects for criminal conspiracy, obstruction of public officers on duty, assault, and malicious damage. On 3rd October, 2026, at about 0900hrs, operatives attached to the 'E' Division Patrol Team, while on routine enforcement of Operation Velvet along Yelwa Road, Bauchi, intercepted a vehicle driven by one Friday (surname yet to be ascertained) and one Yunana Ali, and politely requested to see the vehicle particulars. Rather than comply with lawful directives, the duo allegedly became hostile, refused to present the documents, and resorted to physically assaulting the patrol team, in the process tearing the uniform of an Inspector of Police.               According to sources,the counsel to Ex-Governor of Lagos state Bola Tinubu,Mr Tunji Abayomi said,a letter asking Daar Communications to appologise for the content and to stop the further airing of false allegation against him was delivered this afternoon,2nd of March 2015.The Part A of the letter reads ''You aired an hour long documentary forcussing on our client {Bola Tinubu}.Cleraly pre-occupied with political resentment and hatred neither warranted,necessary,proper,or justified.You published several false allegations against our client.More disturbing is your misrepresentation that said,the documentary was ''sponsored'',without disclosing the ''sponsors''.You cannot under law,hide under media freedom to maliciously injure a citizen's reputation''.The letter also demanded for N20billion {Twenty Billion Naira} as cost of damage done to the reputation of his client.Failing to comply,his client will sue the company.Read t...
