THE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS SAYS TROOPS ELIMINATED OVER 100 TERRORISTS, ARRESTED 345 TERRORISTS, AND RESCUED 393 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN THE MONTH OF JULY.(PHOTO).

 The Defence Headquarters says troops eliminated over 100 terrorists, arrested 345 terrorists, and rescued 393 kidnapped victims in the month of July. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, stated this during the monthly Defence Media Operations briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. Major General Onoja added that during the period under review, 57 terrorists surrendered, over 1,000 arms and assorted ammunition were recovered, 18 illegal refining sites were destroyed, while 250,500 litres of stolen crude oil and refined petroleum products were recovered. Speaking further, Major General Onoja, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, reaffirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to the protection of lives and property nationwide, and their resolve to ensure that kidnapping, terrorism, secessionist agitation, and other forms of criminality are purged from society.

              According to sources,the counsel to Ex-Governor of Lagos state Bola Tinubu,Mr Tunji Abayomi said,a letter asking Daar Communications to appologise for the content and to stop the further airing of false allegation against him was delivered this afternoon,2nd of March 2015.The Part A of the letter reads ''You aired an hour long documentary forcussing on our client {Bola Tinubu}.Cleraly pre-occupied with political resentment and hatred neither warranted,necessary,proper,or justified.You published several false allegations against our client.More disturbing is your misrepresentation that said,the documentary was ''sponsored'',without disclosing the ''sponsors''.You cannot under law,hide under media freedom to maliciously injure a citizen's reputation''.The letter also demanded for N20billion {Twenty Billion Naira} as cost of damage done to the reputation of his client.Failing to comply,his client will sue the company.Read t...
