 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.       President Muhammadu Buhari has approved wide ranging reforms in the broadcasting industry, including the licensing of online radio and television stations. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who disclosed this in Abuja on Friday when he received members of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) on a courtesy visit, was responding to a request made by BON for the review of the Broadcasting Code. “I just want to use this opportunity to inform you that Mr. President has actually already approved a review of the Broadcast Code that is going to take care of many of the issues you have already raised here. “In particular, the President has approved that WebTVs and radio stations, including foreign broadcasters beaming signals into Nigeria, will be licensed because we must bring sanity into this industry. Mr. President has also approved a wide range of reforms in the industry which, at the appropriate platform, I will let you know,” he said.

       A video making rounds online captured moment a lady was forced to swear with corpse of a young lady she was accused of killing. The lady identified simply as Mama ThankGod was forced to undergo the ritual at Amuzukwu Ibeku in Abia State, by relatives of the deceased from Ebonyi State. She was heard saying that "if she has a hand in the death of the young lady who died after being sick for a  while, she should be visited with same in 7 days'. The photo above and below shows Mama ThankGod swearing to prove her innocence at the burial of the deceased.Well After seven days we will know if Mama ThankGod is still alive.

      The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has inducted into service another EC-135 Helicopter, NAF 549, which was reactivated in-country by NAF personnel in collaboration with some technical partners from within and outside Nigeria. The induction of NAF 549 today, 24 August 2019, at the NAF 115 Special Operations Group (115 SOG) in Port Harcourt signifies the substantial progress the Service has made in its bid to continually build capacity to cope with technological advancements in the field of military aviation and further prosecute the various ongoing operations in the Country. It could be recalled that the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, was in Port Harcourt in 2018 to unveil an Mi-35P helicopter, NAF 531, after an in-country Life Extension Programme, which was successfully conducted in Nigeria for the first time since the helicopter was inducted into the NAF in Year 2000. HOUSE-HELP ARRESTED FOR STEALING EMPLOYER'S N1.6M SIX HOURS AFTER RESUMPTION.{PHOTO}.

          26-year-old Franca Amaha, pictured below, has been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command, for stealing N1.6million cash in foreign currencies belonging to her boss just six hours after resuming as a househelp in her house situated in Surulere. According to the police, Amaha who is from Cross Rivers State had approached an employment agent for a domestic job on July 24, 2019 using a fake name, address and guarantor. Shortly after, she was assigned to one Mrs Taiye at Masha area of Surulere, Lagos. Few hours after her resumption, she accompanied her boss to the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, to pick her boss' sister who had returned to Nigeria from abroad. Amaha ransacked her boss' sister's luggage kept in the guest house and carted away with $2800, £1000 and 2000 Dutch Guilder. When interrogated, she said she stole the money so she can use it to treat her sick mother. She said she went to make her hair and bought herself new slip

      The Imo state police command has arrested and paraded a housewife identified as Chinasa Ukaonu, for selling her baby for N500k after delivery. The plan to sell her baby was set in motion after she told her husband Promise Ukaonu, that she was going to stay with her brother for a while at Mbaitoli in the 8-month of her pregnancy. However after sending over a message of losing the pregnancy shortly after, Chinasa turned up at a baby factory where two nurses, Esomonu Dorothy and Eke Catherine delivered her of the baby. Suspecting foul play, Promise reported the incident to the police. Upon being arrested, the mother named the two nurses who helped her out during delivery and also revealed she sold her baby for N500k to one Mrs. Chioma Amadi. The State Police Commissioner, Rabiu Ladodo said the paraded suspects will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded. He also confirmed that the baby has been recovered.
