 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country.   The Imo State Government has approved the forensic audit of the imo state university amidst high level of corrupt practices as contained in the report of the visitation panel which undertook a thorough investigation into the university’s activities between the years 2012-2019. In another development, the state government has approved December 30th, 2020 as the retirement date for the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. Mrs. Adaobi Obasi while considering the white paper report of the visitation panel on IMSU which was headed by Prof. Chinedu Nebo. The approvals was given by the State Executive Council on Wednesday, 16th December, 2020 while insisting that the forensic audit of the university’s activities is timely and necessary and appreciated the efforts of Gov. NAF: RESCUE OF ABDUCTED STUDENTS OF GSSS KANKARA, KATSINA STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  Three hundred and forty four boys abducted from Government Science Secondary School (GSSS) Kankara, Katsina State on 11 December 2020 were safely returned to the Katsina State Government House this morning, escorted by a combined team of personnel from various security agencies with air cover provided by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). As from the early hours of 12 December 2020, the NAF deployed additional air assets, including additional Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft, to Katsina to provide persistent surveillance over identified areas of interest within Katsina and Zamfara States, whilst maintaining offensive air presence to deny the abductors freedom of action. NAF Medical personnel were also part of the Team that provided immediate medical care to the boys after their release from the forest, while additional NAF Special Forces personnel were also deployed to provide support.More photos below. +11

PANTAMI ORDERS CANCELLATION OF NIN RETIEVAL CHARGE ACROSS ALL NETWORKS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) FNCS, FBCS,FIIM, MCPN has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to remove the N20 USSD fee imposed on subscribers for NIN retrieval requests. The Minister’s directive which takes immediate effect, is an intervention aimed at making the process easier and affordable. In a letter conveying the implementation of the directive, the Executive Vice Chairman NCC and the Director General of NIMC, informed Dr Pantami that the relevant authorities had met with, and negotiated a waiver with the Mobile Network Operators in that regard. By this waiver, all Nigerians, subscribers and applicants can access the service using the *346# code for their NIN retrieval at no charge for the duration of the NIN/SIM Card integration exercise.
