 PRESS RELEASE FG Flags Off  Three Major Water Supply Projects to Boost Access in Benue State The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, has flagged off three critical water supply projects in Benue State as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubuā€™s Renewed Hope Agenda.  The projects which includes rehabilitation and upgrading of the Buruku-Gboko Water Supply Project, Rehabilitation and Improvement of the Wannune Water Supply Project, and Construction of the Ugbema Water Supply Project are aimed at expanding access to potable water, improving public health, and mitigating the prevalence of waterborne diseases in the state.        Five members of Boko Haram terrorists (BHTs) have met their waterloo as they along with others (BHTs) attempted woefully to ransack a military base at Buni yadi, in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State at about 06:05 hours (pm) on Saturday the 16th of February, 2019. Though, the terrorists appeared prepared for the attack as they approached the military location with 4 gun trucks,1 Mine Resistant Ambush Protection,1 MOWAC and assorted arms and ammunitions, they, however, suffered heavy losses as five of the bandits/terrorists were effectively deleted, 9 x AK 47 rifles, 1x Anti Aircraft gun, 121 rounds of 12.7 mm Anti Aircraft ammunitions, 2x 36 hand grenades, 295 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 4x Improvised Explosive(IED) Device, 1x IED cylinder, 1x RPG bomb, 1x RPG bomb charger, 1x gun truck and 1x Bajaj Motorcycle were recovered. BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS ON THE RUN ALONG JEBBRA - FIRGI CROSSING POINT IN BANKI BORNO STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

          In their resolve to dominate their general area of operation as well as to deny the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) freedom of action, the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, 151 Battalion at about 1921hrs on 16 February 2019 embarked on aggressive fighting patrol and also mounted an ambush along Jebbra - Firgi Banki axis of Borno State, a notable crossing point of the BHTs. The terrorists in  a crafty move bypassed own troops through another route but were however noticed by the ever vigilant and dogged troops who followed in a hot pursuit with fire power on target thereby inflicting heavy casualties on the runaway terrorists, scampered for their lives in disarray. During the operation, troops neutralised 2 BHTs and unconfirmed number of terrorists fled with gunshot wounds. Items recovered were 2 motorcycles, 7 bicycles charms and other assorted drugs.        The Lagos State Government has effected change in the School Calendar following the postponement of the scheduled election dates by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Her Excellency, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule who made the decision public said all public and private schools should resume on Monday 18th February, 2019 as against Tuesday 19th February, contained in the earlier  reviewed calendar. She informed all the Lagos State School stakeholders and the general public that all schools in Lagos state are expected to close on Friday 22nd of February and resume on Monday 25th. Adebule said the second leg of the break will be on Friday 8th March, 2019 and schools are expected to resume on Monday 11th March, 2019.        Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on the International Community to continue to mount pressure on the APC Federal Government and INEC to conduct credible and peaceful elections across the country, including Rivers State. In a statement personally issued by Governor Wike on the postponed elections on Saturday night, Governor Wike said that the original plan of the APC Federal Government was to isolate Rivers State and truncate the elections in the state.
