                 As part of ongoing clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in the north-eastern of the country,troops have been conducting clearance operations and patrols in various areas of operation.It is in this vein that a patrol team had contact with elements of terrorists at MOPOL and BOCOS general area on sunday 14th August 2016.During the encounter,a Boko Haram terrorist was killed and the team recovered 5 bicycles,wheel barrow containing sack of foodstuffs and a Tecno mobile telephone.Troops on patrol also rescued 28 persons comprising 2 men,9 women and 17 children of which there were 8 males and 9 females same at Bama Local Government Area,Borno State.The rescued persons claimed to have escaped from Bula Musa village.They have been taken too Bama town for screening,profiling and possible hand over to emergency management and humanitarian agencies.Similarly,troops deployed at Internally Displaced Persons {IDPs} camp in Bama,intercepted 23 persons compri

                                   Former Chairman of Bagoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State,Andrew Adamu,on August 15,2016,refunded the sum of N5,000,000.{Five Million Naira}to the EFCC Gombe zonal office.He had earlier made a refund of One Million Naira {1,000,000.00} out of the Twelve Million,and Sixty Thousand Naira {N12,060,000.00} that was disbursed to the local government area in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.Adamu admitted to the zonal office of the Commission during interrogation that he signed and collected the said amount in the presence of Hon. Marcus Bulus Makama, a current member of the the Bauchi State House of Assrmbly and former caretaker chairman of the local government,Mrs Hasanna Arkila who signed as witnesses for the collection of the amount.All the suspects reported to the zonal office of the Commission,and agreed to return the money to the Commission.

                 According to The Herald,officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation {FBI} and other security experts have been sent by the United States to help the Nigerian government fight terrorism.The delegation,which comprised a team of the U.S Security Governance Initiative,is in the country as a follow up to its earlier visit in January.The Acting Deputy Chief of Mission,U.S Embassy,Alan Tousignant,disclosed this yesterday monday in Abuja.Tousignant led a security delegation on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior,Abdulrahman Dambazau.The Team leader,SGI,Stephen Nolan,said both countries were working to finalise and implement a Joint Country Action Plan {JCAP} which was a document that outlined a roadmap for a successful partnership.Mr Nolan,however,guaranteed that the upcoming polls in the U.S and the change of government in January 2017 would not affect the projct as they had been working hard to ensure its sustenance.He said ''I want to assure you that

                                The EFCC on monday August 15,2016,arrested a former Commissioner for Public Utilities in Ebonyi State,Engineer Benjamin Ogbonnaya Okah,for alleged abuse of office and collecting gratificaation to the tune of N83 million.The arrest was sequel to a petition by the Ebonyi State government over the $12 million contract to a US based company Califco Group that had been abandoned since 2012,despite a mobilization of $10.8 million already paid by Ebonyi State Government into the accounts of the said company.Investigation has revealed that both the Abuja and Ebonyi state addresses of the said company are fictitous.In the course of investigation,it was discovered that the former Commissioner allegedly collected gratification from the company in the sum of N83 million between July 30,2012 and December 30,2014,through his companies:.Global Victory Allied Company and Mahco Mega Nigeria Limited.Investigation in this matter continues.

                                                   Senate President,Dr Abubakar Bukola Sarakii today tuesday expressed deep sadness over the passage of the Balogun Fulani of Ilorin,Alhaji Mahmud Durosinlohun Atiku at the age of 76.In a statement by his Special Adviser,Media and Publicity,Yusuph Olaniyonu,in Abuja,Saraki described the death of the elder statesman as a personal loss to him and a colossal loss to the Ilirin Emirate,the Government and people of Kwara State and the entire country.He stated that the contribution of the deceased to the development of Ilorin during his 15 year reign as Balogun in particular,and Kwara state in general cannot be qualified. Saraki stated: ''Alhaji Mahmud Durosinlohun Atiku was a friend and father to me.He was a complete gentleman.He was always prepared to give up what is dear to him so long as such sacrificial gesture would contribute to the peaceful and harmonious co-existence of the people in his immediate domain and that of Kwara Stat
