EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

The event was themed ''The Nigerian Economy: Challenges and Opportunities''.The guest speakers for the day were Col. Gabriel Ajayi,Prophet Israel Oladele and Mrs Josephine Aligwekwe.The Special Guest of Honour was Hon. Saka Fafunmi,member Lagos State House of Assembly,who was present at the event as seen in the photo above and below to launch the magazine for Adaobi Enekwa who is the Editor in Chief of the Magazine.W4 and other musicians performed at the event and off cos I 'Pink Republic'' was physically present at the event.More photos below.

SUPREME COURT THROWS OUT METUH'S APPEAL TODAY,SEEKING TOO STOP N400M FRAUD TRIAL.

             Olisa Metuh,a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP,has again lost his bid to stop his N400 million fraud trial,as the Supreme Court,on June 9,2017 dismissed his application seeking for a stay of proceedings.Metuh is standing trial along with Destra Investment Limited for the alleged fraud.He is facing a seven-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court,Abuja.He had filed the application through his counsel,Onyeachi Ikpeazu,SAN,seeking for a stay of proceedings at the High Court.Ikpeazu had at the March 22 ,2017 sitting before Justice Abang,also applied to the court to ''stay proceedings'',as the Supreme Court,according to him had at the time already begun hearing the appeal.He had argued that the High Court' ought to defer to the Supremme Court'',which had fixed June 9,2017 to rule on the application.His application was however,veheme

NORMALCY RETURNS TO LASPOTECH AS MANAGEMENT SUES FOR UNDERSTANDING.

                  The management of the Lagos State Polytechnic {LASPOTECH} has urged all warring factions in the recent protest that rocked the institution to allow peace to reign,especially now that the students have resolved to allow the State Government find a lasting solution to the issue that led to the protest.A released by the Deputy Registrar,Information and Public Relations,Mr Olanrewaju Kuye,implored the students and the three Unions in the Polytechnic to embrace peace and always explore dialogue for a smooth-running academic programme.While assuring the public that the situation has been brought under control,the release explained that the protest followed the circular from the National Board for Technical Education {NBTE} on the issue of CONTISS 15 Migration for Staff on CONTISS 11 and below. OSUN COLLEGE TETFUND FRAUD: COURT GRANTS THREE DEFENDANTS BAIL.{PHOTO}.

                   Justice M.A Onyetenu of the Federal High Court Osogbo,Osun State,June 8,2017 granted the 3rd,5th and 6th defendants bail in the case of conspiracy and money laundering brought against the former members of the Governing Council of the Osun State College of Education,Ila-Orangun,Osun State.They include David Olayinka Olojede,Akingbade Latilo,Dr. Gbadamosi Basiru,Oluwafemi Kujembola.Others are: Amobi Yunusa Akintola and Ogungbemi Olatokunbo.Bashiru {3rd defendant}, Akintola {5th defendant} and Olatokunbo {6th defendant} were granted bail in the sum of N20 Million each with two sureties who have landed properties within Osogbo.The defendants are to deposit their International Passport with the court.One of the sureties must be a civil servant on grade level 16 and must depose to an affidavit of means.However,the applications for bail of the 1st defendant,David Olayinka Olojede,2nd defendant,Akingbade Latilo and 4th defendant,Oluwafemi Kujembola were dismissed by the cou
