 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country.    Four other APC members defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while a rep left the party without stating his new direction. In all, the ruling party lost 37 members. This comes hours after 15 APC senators moved to the PDP.In the defection letter read by Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house, the lawmakers cited factionalisation and division in the ruling party as reason for leaving.The development has caused jubilation in the house.One more photo below.

COURT JAILS KEROSINE DEALER ONE YEAR FOR ISSUING DUD CHEQUE. {PHOTO}.

      Justice E. F. Ikponmwien of an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin- City has sentenced a kerosine dealer to one year imprionment, without an option of fine, for issuing a dishonoured cheque to one of his customers. The convict, Abraham Ologunja was arraigned on a one- count charge bordering on issuance of a dud cheque and was found guilty of the charge and convicted accordingly.  Trouble started for Ologunja  when a complainant petitioned the Commission that, sometime in August 2013, he deceitfully acquired some 33, 000 litres of petroleum product, specifically Kerosine, from him, amounting to N4,400,000.00k ( Four Million Four Hundred Thousand Naira only) and issued a Keystone bank cheque No.,00000020 dated 14 October, 2013 in favour of him but was dishonoured at the point of presentation due to insufficient funds.  All efforts by the complainant to recover his money proved abortive. POLICE STORMS THE HOMES OF SARAKI AND EKWEREMADU TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

     Operatives from the Special Anti Robbery Squad unit of the Nigeria Police, on Tuesday morning, have blocked the convoy of Senate President Bukola Saraki from leaving his Maitama Residence. The stern-looking policemen, it was learnt, stormed the residence at about 6:00a.m. and prevented vehicles from coming in or going out of the expansive residence of Nigeria’s third citizen.But another source is claiming that '' Operatives of the Department of State Services and men of the Nigeria Police have laid siege to the Abuja homes of President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. The security operatives arrived at the homes in the early hours of  Tuesday . Those at Saraki’s Maitama residence, however, left around  7:30am  when the Senate President was said to have left the premises. Rising from a closed door meeting with stakeholders in the maritime and transport sectors, including Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Shippers Council, Tank Farm Owners, Department of Petroleum Resources, Security Agencies and Clearing and Forwarding Agents, held at the Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja and chaired by State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the State Government also resolved to accelerate and complete work on the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Trailer Park in Orile within the next one month.      Lagos State Government has announced that the screening test for students seeking transfer to public secondary schools will hold on Monday, 27th August, 2018. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Adebunmi Adekanye who made this known recently, said that interested applicants should obtain a clearance slip from the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary's Office for the school of choice in other to make the  process a lot easier.
