NLC suspends planned nationwide strike over naira scarcity MARCH 28, 2023  The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended their planned nationwide strike over the scarcity of naira notes. The labour union announced the development at the end of its national executive council meeting on Tuesday. The NLC had earlier disclosed that it would begin an indefinite industrial strike from Wednesday, March 29, 2023, adding that it would picket branches of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) across the country. Speaking on the development, Joe Ajaero, the NLC president, said the union decided to put the strike action on hold after receiving briefings from its state councils in the 36 states and the federal capital territory (FCT). He said the NLC would resume the planned protest if naira notes remain unavailable to Nigerians by the end of two weeks. Chief Boko Haram bomb maker, Awana Gaidam killed by his own IED in Sambisa Forest A Boko Haram chief bomb maker and a high ranking terrorist identified as Awana Gaidam, has been killed by his own Improvised Explosive Device (IED).   Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst, who disclosed this on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, said the 39-year-old chief bomb maker, apart from his high status in the command structure of the Boko Haram terrorists, was one of their capable hands involved in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).  

EFCC Asks Court to Dismiss Gov Yahaya Bello’s Application to Vacate Forfeiture Order on 14 Properties, N400m The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, urged Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos to dismiss the application by Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, seeking to vacate the forfeiture order in respect of 14 properties and the sum of N400m. The court had, on February 22, 2023, granted a preservation order of the properties linked to the Kogi State government and reasonably suspected to have been derived from unlawful activities, pursuant to Sections 9 and 10 of the Proceeds of Crimes (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022. The properties including  “Hotel Apartment Community, Burj Khalifa lying, being and situate at, Plot 160 Municipality NO 345-7562, Sky View Building No 1, Property No 401, Floor 4, Dubai U.A.E.”,  were reasonably suspected to have been derived from unlawful activity.  At the re...

Ihedioha Withdraws From Imo PDP Guber Primary March 28, 2023 Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, had withdrawn from the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party Governorship race. LASCOPA SEALS CHIFFY SUPERMARKET OVER SALES OF EXPIRED PRODUCTS  The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) today sealed Chiffy Supermarket, located at 3, Oduduwa Crescent GRA, Ikeja, for selling expired toothpaste and other household products.  The General Manager of LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo Esq. had earlier on Sunday responded and acted swiftly by visiting the supermarket following a tip-off from a Consumer’s Facebook post alerting the Agency and the general public on the sales of the expired products at Chiffy Supermarket in GRA Ikeja.  Upon arrival at the supermarket, Solebo disclosed that the toothpaste and other products found in the store had no price tags and were all expired. 20 YEAR OLD MAN DEFILES GIRLFRIEND AGED 14   A 14-year-old girl, of Kamitondo area in Kitwe on the Copperbelt, has allegedly been defiled by her 20-year-old boyfriend, of the same area. Copperbelt commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba says the victim went to see her elder sister within Kamitondo but on her way there, she met her boyfriend, Isaac Kumwenda. Kumwenda told her to go to his home and sweep the house but he later defiled her. Mweemba  explained that the suspect also took pictures of the two and posted on Facebook, while they were inside the house. Mweemba has added that upon seeing the photos, people informed the mother, who went to Kumwenda’s house and found her daughter in his house. He says police interviewed the victim, in the presence of the accused, over the matter and she accepted that the suspect had s*x with her in the house. GOV ORTOM WITHDRAWS PETITION  AGAINST APC AT ELECTION TRIBUNAL Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has withdrawn his petition at the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal he filed over his loss of the Benue North-West Senatorial seat. Governor Ortom who was the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Senatorial candidate in the February 25th, 2023 National Assembly elections disclosed that he has decided to withdraw the case in the interest of peace.  Portable Blows Hot As Police Allegedly Invade ‘Office’ Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable, has caused a stir online over the alleged invasion of his bar by policemen. In a viral video trending online, Portable did an Instagram live to show what happened in his bar. In the viral video, Portable was heard saying, “ Why are you here? Why am I seeing you are under arrest?  KDSG Security Update: Tuesday 28th March 2022 KDSG accounts for items belonging to victims of AK9 train attack. -Sixteen (16) bags, various loose items remain unclaimed. Exactly one year ago, on the 28th of March 2022, a horrendous attack was launched by terrorists on the Kaduna-bound train from Abuja. The terrorists derailed the train at around 7pm by setting off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to blow up a section of the track.  PDP Chairman, Iyiorcha Ayu steps aside. March 28, 2023 The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP,Dr Iyiorcha Ayu has stepped aside. The development comes 24 hours after a High Court restrained Dr Ayu from parading as the National Chairman of the party. The Deputy National Chairman,( North) Umar Iliya Damagum who steps into the office of National Chairman of the party made this known in a press briefing on Tuesday. He assured that some of the suspension action on members would be reviewed.

Ifeanyi Obike who hails from Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra  State Is Set To Launch his first Global Airline, Obike Air.  The billionaire said he hopes the airline will  compete with the likes of British Airways,  Lufthansa,Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
