 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.              The Philippines Jail built to hold 800 inmates,brimming with 3,800 inmates Quezon City Jail near the country's capital city Manila must be one of the Most congested jails in the world.Photographer Noel Celis of AFP exposed the overcrowding in the jail with his photos.However,AFP reports that the Philippines government is preparing new facilities in other areas.Philippines has recently embarked on the president's anti-drug campaign which has led to the arrest and death of many drug dealers.Phelim Kine,the deputy Asia Director at Human Rights Watcg to the Rime said ''There has been a sharp increase in suspected drug dealers and users who are surrendering themselves to authorities because they are afraid they are going to get killed next...They actully see prison as a safe haven''.More photos below.                                                                                      

LAGOS STATE RECENTLY APPREHENDS A WOMAN,USING INFANT TWINS TO BEG FOR ALMS.{PHOTO}.

                        The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development monitoring team has apprehended another woman soliciting alms with two infant babies suspected to be twins in the Costain area of the State.Speaking on the incident,the State Commissioner in charge of the Ministry,Pharm. Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf stated that the woman apprehended by the team,Hadiza Umoru from Minna Niger State,was arrested recently during routine monitoring operations by the Monitoring Team attached to the Ministry,adding that ''This is another example of the many heartless women who risk the safety of babies for pecuniary gain''.The Commissioner disclosed that after preliminary investigation,''It was discovered that the suspect is not the biological mother of the set of twins but Amina,her younger sister,whom she pays each time she uses the twins to beg for alms on the streets of Lagos''.She however noted that all effort to get the biological mother of the

EFCC ARRESTED THREE ''FAAN'' STAFF FOR N100 MILLION FRAUD.{PHOTOS}.

                    The EFCC,on August 2,2016 arrested a level six officer of the Accounts Department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria,FAAN,Christy Olabode,for an alleged fraud to the tune of N100 million.Also arrested was her younger brother,Abdul-Shehu Obaze,a staff at the Commercial Department of FAAN in Ilorin,Kwara State,and Dominic Ojo,an IT officer at FAAN Heafquarters,Lagos.Her arrest followed an anonymous petition,which indicated that she allegedly diverted the said sum,by inserting names of non-FAAN staff into its payroll.She allegedly conspired with Obaze,to perpetrate the fraud.Obaze was found to have maintained not less than eight accounts in seven new generation banks,which were used to receive the funds for onward distribution to ''several high ranking officers within the FAAN''.The funds were being paid into his various bank accounts with the narrative,''Furniture Allowance''.However,while allowance for FAAN's furniture is

              According to Aljazeera,an armed separatist group is being blamed for killing at least 13 people and more than a dozen wounded,during an attack on a busy weekly market in Kokrajhar town in India's northeastern Assam state,officials said.One assailant was killed during the attack today friday and security forces were in pursuit of three or four suspects believed to be hiding in a nearby forest,Assam police chief Mukesh Sahay told reporters.Though no group has yet claimed responsibility,Sahay blamed the attack on the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland,an armed group that has fought for decades for a separate homeland for the indigenous Bodo tribes people in Assam.One more photo below.

                    Today friday,Nigeria Dream Team,representing at the 2016 Olympics in Rio Brazil,won today's march that was against Japan.The Nigerian team beat Japan 5-4,showing no sign of fatigue after going through a mix up at the airport in Atlanta to Brazil that led to their landing in Brazil's jungle city of Manaus six hours before their game costing their rest and practice time.Nigeria's next game is against Sweden on Sunday at 6pm in Manaus while Japan duels with Colombia at 9pm at the same venue.Congratulations Nigeria.One more photo below.

                Russia finally get the nod to compete in the 2016 Olympic s in Rio after ban is lifted on some sports people.270 Russians cleared to compete at Olympic Games and over 100 other Russian athletes banned from competing in th games in Rio Brazil.A three member International Olympics Committee panel made decision following an appeal by some Russian sports people.Those given the go ahead include 29 swimmers and canoeing world champion,17 Russian rowers among others.
