  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                  According to sources,yesterday thursday,Joseph Mbu aides,arrested toll operators in Lekki,and now the company in charge of the Lekki Concession Company {LCC},has appealed to the Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba to tell Joseph Mbu to release toll operators arrested by his aides on thursday yesterday thursday.In a statement by the LCC,it was discovered that the toll operators were forcefully ad uneccessarily seizedd from their duty post in Lagos state.''At about 6:09pm,on thursday 29 January 2015,the newlydeployed AIG zone 2,covering Lagos and Ogun states,AIG Joseph Mbu,passed through lane 8 at Toll Plaza 1 on the Eti Osa Lekki-Epe Expressway,a toll road under concession to a private concern,Lekki Concession Company,with 6 police vehicles and an armoured van in his convoy.Though it is customary to exempt law enforcement agents and other agencies on official duty from paying toll,each vehicle that passes through the Plaza still needs to be processed as ex

EBONYI STATE GOVERNOR'S SON NNANNA,ARRESTED BY THE EFCC.

            According to sources,Martin Elechi the Governor of Ebonyi state,his son Nnanna Elechi was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC,for money laundering.He was brought to the EFCC head office in Abuja,yesterday thursday morning and his being grilled over allegations of money laundering running into millions of naira.He is alleged to be the face of the family's company that profited from contracts from the state and Local Governments running into millions of naira and which remain un-executed,less than four months to his father's end of tenure.Mr Elechi was yet to be released when the media checked with EFCC sources at 9PM yesterday thursday.
