 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

LAGOS SEALS ILLEGAL TRADITIONAL MEDICINE FACILITIES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

         The Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board has sealed the facilities of illegal traditional medicine practitioners in Ikorodu area of the State in its quest to rid Lagos of unwholesome practices. Speaking on the exercise, Mr. Kemi Kadiku, Director of LSTMB, stated that members of its Task Force acted on the information received from representatives in Ikorodu Local Government Area where the team discovered many fake and unregistered facilities. According to him, “Our Task Force gang got reliable information from our men on ground at Ikorodu that many Traditional Medicine practitioners are operating illegally and unhindered in the community. When our team later went for inspection, we uncovered lots of noticeable infractions which led to the sealing of six facilities and their owners asked to report at the Board for regularisation”. Kadiku also commended Prince Olusesi Mare, the supervisor of Ikorodu Task Force gang for doing a great surveillance job ahead of LSTMB’

QUEEN ELIZABETH AWARDED JAZZ MUSICIAN 'GARY GROSBY OBE' WITH 'THE QUEEN'S MEDAL FOR MUSIC' TODAY AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE.{PHOTOS}.

      The Queen's Medal for Music has been awarded to jazz musician Gary Crosby OBE. Today The Queen presented the award to Mr. Crosby at Buckingham Palace. Gary Crosby OBE is a British jazz double bassist, composer, and co-founder and Artistic Director of Tomorrow's Warriors a jazz education group which nurtures and develops young musicians. The Queen's Medal for Music, established in 2005, is presented annually to an outstanding individual or group of musicians who have had a ma jor influence on the musical life of the nation. On receiving the award, Mr Crosby said: “I’m honoured to receive The Queen’s Medal for Music, and humbled to join such a distinguished group of Medal recipients. As a founder of Tomorrow’s Warriors, I’m also delighted to be recognised for my work as an educator and mentor to the many young jazz musicians we’ve worked with over the years.”.One more photo below.

       Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday took another step towards the actualisation of his administration’s education and human capital development agenda by distributing instructional materials to public schools in the State. At a colourful event held within the premises of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Okesa Street, Ado-Ekiti, the Governor, who was represented by Commissioner for Education, Evangelist Foluso Daramola, described the distribution as a demonstration of government’s commitment to ensuring qualitative education at all levels. According to him, the distribution of text books, library resource materials and other instructional materials jointly provided by the State Government and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) was meant to strengthen teaching and learning in public schools across the State.        The Provost of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ikeja Branch, Lagos, Olubunmi Odeniyi, on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, told Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, how insurance premium funds paid by members of the association were not remitted to any insurance company during the administrations of two former chairmen of the Association, Adesina Ogunlana and Yinka Farounbi, respectively.
