 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

KOGI GUBER: PDP REJECTS RESULTS+ISSUES STERN CAUTION TO INEC.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       November 17, 2019 Press Statement The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) issues a stern caution to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the fictitious votes being bandied from Okene and other arears to favour the All Progressives Congress (APC). The party demands the immediate cancellation of such allocated results, particularly in Okene Local Government Area. The party maintains that nobody can accept the provocative alteration of results from polling units as well as allocation of fictitious votes, particularly the awarding of 112, 000 votes to APC in Okene. The PDP says the people of Kogi state have glaring evidence of alterations of figures to reduce the vote of the PDP and allocate imported figures to the APC. The party therefore cautions INEC not to ever declare such mutilated results as they will not be accepted by the people. GOV. WIKE RELEASES N132MILLION FOR THE PAYMENT OF CORPS MEMBERS ALLOWANCES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

         Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has announced the release of N132million for the payment of monthly allowances for Corps Members serving in the state. Speaking during a Courtesy Visit by the Governing Council of the National Youth Service Council (NYSC) at the Government House Port Harcourt on Friday, Governor Wike said the payment process has been activated by his administration. "We have released N132million for the payment of the allowances for corps members serving in the state", he said. He further informed that funds have been released for the construction of drainage, completion of the 5000 capacity auditorium, 3000 mattresses and 1500 double-bunk beds for the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp at Nonwa. He said: "The corps members are serving the interest of the state. We are only investing to enhance their performance. A WOMAN CARELESSLY BURNT-DOWN A BUILDING IN LAGOS.{PHOTOS}.#EYEWITNESS.

     For the past couple of weeks, fire incidents have been a rampant around Lagos streets. Just of recent, there was a reported fire outbreak at a property situated at No 8, Musbau Ashafa off Agbe Road, Abule Egba, Lagos on Tuesday 12th of November at about 3pm. A certain woman identified as Itunnu Ademokun was reported to have carelessly burnt a rented apartment where she lives with her family.  According to an eyewitness’s account, the mother of three was burning candles for spiritual purposes in her bedroom which was attributed to an act of one certain white garment church where she worships. We gathered that the resident also doubles as her trade zone where she makes sales of edible items. She was said to have been attending to one of her numerous customers at the time of the incident when the burning candles caught up with a bed-sheet in her room and spread almost all over the building.      According to CNN ''  Kanye West left inmates in tears when he performed a surprise concert at the Harris County jail in Houston, Texas. The Grammy award-winning rapper and his choir performed songs from his gospel album "Jesus is King" on Friday as inmates waved their hands and knelt in prayer. West  said  his visit was "a mission, not a show," according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. West performed for more than 200 male inmates before using an underground tunnel to access a separate jail to perform for a smaller crowd of women inmates, according to the  Houston Chronicle . "Say what you want about the man," said Jason Spencer, a public affairs director for the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
